Sun Jun 15 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Captain JR reports a beautiful morning aboard the Viking Star! Our crew kept busy at the rail as anglers enjoyed steady action with plenty of fluke. A fair number of keepers made it into the buckets, along with a few big porgies to round out the day’s catch. Congratulations to our pool winner, Tobias Holler…

Sat June 14 – Sunset Jigging for Striped Bass & Blues

Capt JR reports an excellent evening of jigging! The wind and lumpy seas didn’t keep the 104 ft Viking Star at the dock. Our hearty passengers enjoyed an excellent night of catching with loads of action. We had oversized giant Striped Bass, slot sized keeper Striped Bass, and schoolie Striped Bass bending our rods up…

Sat June 14 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports a decent trip on the Viking Starlite. Porgy fishing was pretty good on first tide early. We had Large and Jumbos. Tons of Bluefish moved in that scared the Porgies away, but everyone had fun catching the Blues. The pool winner was Darwin Nunez from East Meadow, NY with a 3.1 lb…

Capt JR reports a delightful afternoon of catching onboard the Viking Star. We found hungry Fluke everywhere we fished keeping anglers busy at the rail. The good action also brought some nice KEEPER sized Fluke to put in the buckets. A fine afternoon! There was no pool.

Fri June 13 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports an okay day on the Viking Starlite. It was a really good start to the trip by the lighthouse first thing with a lot of Porgies and Bluefish. When the flood tide came on it got picky. We also had some throwback Blackfish and Sea Bass. The pool winner was Mr. Lee…

Sat Jun 7 – Night Squid Fishing

Captain Carl reports a good start to our squid trip last night! We had solid action and catching for the first part of the night with lots of bait around the boat in our lights and squid! Eventually, however, the NE wind came up and everything went quiet for the rest of the night. We…

Sat Jun 7 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports that we kicked off the day at the Lighthouse with a light pick to start things off. Afterward, we set sail for the bay, where we found a mix of Porgies in various sizes. The morning bite was a bit slow, but the action picked up nicely as the day went on. Congratulations to our pool winner, T.J. from Mt. Vernon, NY, who landed the top catch of the day, a 2.5 lb porgy! We’ll be back out there tomorrow!
