Tue Oct 1 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a good trip on the Viking Star. We fished south of Block Island and had fish everywhere we tried. There was a lot of moving around because we would have them really good, then the smaller ones would start to show up. Everywhere we tried was like this. There was plenty of fish to go around with mixed size Porgies, plenty of Sea Bass, a bunch of Mackerel mixed in and a few Cod. The pool winner was Jose Avelino from Astoria, Queens with a 2 lb Porgy. We will be sailing tomorrow at 5am on the Viking Star. The office opens at 4am for check in and ticket sales.

Sun Sep 29 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a pretty good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. For the most part today was an all around slow and steady pick, it was never red- hot at any point, but we had action all day. From the start of the day we had some nice SeaBass closer in to…

Sat Sept 28 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Captain JR reports a tough afternoon on the Viking Star. The weather made a rapid turn for the worse and created very unfavorable conditions. We did manage to pick some porgies and fluke, but it was not an exciting afternoon. Ronnie Alma from Montauk, NY took the pool this afternoon with a 3 lb Fluke. Tomorrow’s half day fishing is cancelled for both the 8am and 1pm trip due to weather.

Sat Sep 28 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship fishing up close to the island. This mornings bite started off absolutely excellent with the first drift being a slammer, having double-header Porgies and SeaBass fish coming over the rails all over the boat. We had a lot of size on the…

Sat Sept 28 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Captain JR reports an excellent morning of catching onboard the Viking Star. LOADS of action with sea bass and giant porgies keeping rods bent all trip. Fri Sep 27 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a tougher day than we have been seeing on the Viking Starship. We had mixed size Porgies with Sea Bass mixed in. There were limits of keeper Sea Bass with no problem. Anglers  also caught a couple of keeper Cod, Pollock and Fluke with Mackerel everywhere. So all in all in was…

Wed Sept 25 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt JR reports a fine day of fishing onboard the Viking Starship. The weather was finally gorgeous and the fish were biting. We found good Sea Bass and Porgy life on all of our stops today. Some drops had more Sea Bass, others more Porgies. By the end of the day everyone was in great shape with plenty of Sea Bass and Scup to take home. Unfortunately we are cancelled for the trip tomorrow. We will be sailing again on Friday.

Tue Sep 24 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. It was a very slow start inshore today, so we headed out to the deeper water. We fished in 85 feet of water and the Big Porgies bit very well, then we had to go further to find the Sea Bass. They were mixed size and there were a lot of Mackerel to get through. The first place pool winner was Gim Yee from Queens, NY with a 3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Jose Rodriguez from the Bronx with a 4 lb Sea Bass. We are sailing tomorrow at 5AM. The office opens at 4am for ticket sales.
