Sun Aug 20- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports a great morning of fishing on the Viking Star. This morning we had ourselves an awesome pick of Porgies with everyone filling up their buckets. We did have  a few SeaBass and Fluke in the mix as well, but the Porgy bite was hot with the high hook of today. Overall a…

Sun Aug 20 – Montauk Lighthouse Porgy and Sea Bass

Captain Dave reports excellent fishing today, along with some beautiful weather. There were plenty of drifts of just straight porgy fishing which lasted up to two hours. The crew caught mostly larges and very few mediums and when close to the island they caught a bit of mackerel. The pool winners today were John Marshall from Anglewood, NJ with a 2.5 lb porgy and Anguila from Bayshore, NY with a 3.5 lb sea bass.

Sat Aug 19- 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Mike reports a good SeaBass bite this afternoon on the Viking Star. We had a steady pick of Porgies the entire trip, overall fishing was pretty and we managed to boat half dozen keeper Fluke in the last 15 min! Nice day on the water! The pool winner this afternoon went to 10-year old…

Sat Aug 19 – Full Day Block Island Fluke & Sea Bass

Capt J.R. Reports a good catch all round on the full-day Block Island Fluke and SeaBass trip on the Viking Starlite. Conditions were a little tough with some stiff breeze, but fish were definitely bending rods all trip. The morning bite saw some quality Fluke being boated along with a very good catch of knot-head…

Sat Aug 19- Montauk Lighthouse Porgies & Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing today on the Viking Starship.  First thing this morning we anchored up for a solid 2.5 hours of double header action with mixed size Porgies left and right. After loading up with Porgies we went off SeaBassing and picked our way through a lot of little stuff with only a handful of decent size fish. We did however boat a few Fluke. The first place pool winner went to Orville H from Englewood, NJ with a 2.5 lb. Fluke. The edible place pool winner went to Keyron L from Brooklyn, NY with a 4 lb. SeaBass.

Sat Aug 19- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports some decent action this morning on the Viking Star despite poor weather conditions. We had quiet the pick of Porgies today, with a handful of keeper Fluke and some keeper SeaBass. We had a lot more Porgies on the boat than we’ve been seeing, which made for some steady fishing. The pool…

Fri Aug 18 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports a very nice afternoon of fishing on the Viking Star. It was great to see the sun come out again today after this mornings rain! We had a really good pick of SeaBass with a much higher keeper count than the last few. Some nice porgy and a few keeper Fluke as well. Overall a very nice day on the water. The pool winner this afternoon went to Vojin Keljanovic from the Bronx, NY with a 3 lb. SeaBass.

Fri Aug 18 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt J.R. reports pretty good fishing today on the Viking Star. Despite some very inconvenient weather this morning, we braved the elements and ended finding a few fish to keep the rods bent. The weather ended up clearing half way through the trip and the final tally of fish wasn’t half bad. We found some…

Thurs Aug 17 – New Moon Striped Bass

Captain Carl reports similar results as the night before on our New Moon Night trip, as we caught numerous Sea Monster Behemoth Striped Bass! Every drift saw multiple hook-ups with some drifts seeing as high as 10 on at a time! Again, we had a couple over 50, and many many in the 30-40-50 lb…

Thurs Aug 17 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt J.R. reports some tough conditions this afternoon on the Viking Star as the persistent east wind continued to plague us. Despite this we had some pretty good action all trip with sea bass, porgies, and some KEEPER fluke coming up all afternoon. Everyone had a good looking bucket at the end of the trip for a hearty fish dinner.
