Fishing Reports

Mon 27- Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing today on the Viking Star. Fishing was great, everyone seemed very pleased with their limit of both Porgies and Sea Bass. We had some very nice sized Porgies on the boat, in the 3lb range, majority were on the larger size. We also had a nice selection of Sea Bass up to 5lbs. There were a few Stripped Bass caught on the boat, but they sized out of the slot limit and had to be thrown back. One keeper Cod on the boat. Overall fishing was great today and there was no pool.

Sun June 26 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Mike reports a good fishing for the PM portion of the 1/2 day fishing on the Viking Starlite. There was a nice mixed bag of Fluke and Sea bass varying in sizes this afternoon. Fluke were biting early with about half dozen keepers but gradually slowed down through out the trip. Later in the…

Sun June 26 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a beautiful day fishing on the Viking Star. Fishing was good, the pick was a bit slow around the Lighthouse with some smaller sized Sea Bass and Porgies. Moved around a, bit and got into a mixed bag of Porgies, mostly medium-sized and some larges with some nice keeper Sea Bass. The…

Sun June 26– 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports a good day of fishing on the Viking Starlite. It was a nice day on the water with a group of fathers and their sons. Everybody caught fish, lots of them were on the small side, but we had a decent amount of keeper Sea Bass and Fluke. The pool winner went…

Sat June 25 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Mike reports a beautiful afternoon aboard the Viking Star. Fishing was steady until slack tide. It slowed for a bit but picked up on the incoming tide. No keeper fluke, but we did have keeper Sea Bass and Scup.

Sat June 25 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a decent day on the Viking Starship. To start the morning we headed down the beach to get out of the tide. It was slower fishing than we have been seeing. Even when it picked up it didn’t last long. We found good size Porgies at the lighthouse, but again it didn’t…

Sat June 25 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Carl reports an action packed morning trip on the Viking Star. The weather was as nice as it gets… flat calm and sunny and the fish were biting! We had steady action to start but most everything was on the smaller side. As the tide started picking up, so did the fishing and the…

Fri June 24 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports much better fishing today on the Viking Star. It was a good morning at the with really nice size Porgies and a few SeaBass mixed in. We then ventured to the east and found mixed size Porgies and SeaBass. There was a good ratio of Porgies to SeaBass out there, but it…

Mon June 20 to Fri June 24 – Mark Kaminski Charter – Viking Starship

Capt Steven Sr reports a great trip for the Kaminski group. We started out the trip with a moment of silence for Captain Ron Kaminski and finished the service with prayers and flowers. Tuesday saw a slow start with rough conditions. It was pick, pick, pick. Then conditions improved and fishing got better and better…

Thurs July 23 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports a slower trip on the Viking Star. Fishing in general was a bit off the bite with the east wind today. Porgy fishing was a slow pick with little fish in the mix. SeaBass was tough on the first day. We threw back a lot to keep a few, but there were…
