Fishing Reports

Capt Dave reports an okay day on the Viking Starlite. We made a bunch of moves because the fishing wouldn’t last for long in one spot. The size of the fish was good, but it was a slower pick than it has been. We also a a few Bluefish. The pool winner was Jose Reyes from the Bronx, NY with a 2 1/4 lb Porgy. Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starlite. It was a very slow start with the Bluefish shutting the bite off. We tried a couple of drops with little return. Out of desperation we tried something new and it paid off very well with Large Porgies coming over the rails. The pool winner was Devon Williams from Camden, NJ with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy.

Capt JR reports a lot of action on the Viking Star this morning. Most of the action was with short Fluke. We had a couple of keepers. The pool winner was Chris Kang from Ridgefield, NJ with a Fluke. Capt Dave reports excellent fishing with great action on the Viking Starlite. The Porgies were on the smaller side to start out, so we made a move looking for bigger fish. We found them, but the action wasn’t as fierce! But they were a much nicer size. We had limits of Porgies around the boat and a few Bluefish. The pool winner was Eric Flores from Amityville, NY with a 2 3/4 lb Porgy.

Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Stariper. We started out with rough conditions and dirty water, so it was a slow start. We had to move around a lot to find them. When we got on them we had limits around the boat of medium and large Porgies. Joe Poponne was the pool winner with a 2 lb Porgy. The trip is cancelled for tomorrow. Capt Dave reports 100% improvement today from the last trip. We found them much closer to home and we stayed on one drop for the entire trip. It started as a slow pick and got better and better throughout the morning. We had a mix of medium to large Porgies and a couple of Bluefish….

Capt Carl reports a great start to the 2021 –  1/2 Day Season! We had some good action with short Fluke and a couple of nice keepers to make the day. The first place pool winner was Florence Duckham from Smithtown, NY with a 3.5 lb Fluke. The second place pool winner was Adam Nash from Patchogue, NY with a 3 lb Fluke.
