Capt Dave reports that with the rough seas of the previous days which caused a swell combined with the and  water we had a slow day of fishing. The fish just really did not bite like they normally do. We ended the day with very few Porgies and  more Sea Bass. At the end of the day the fish we did catch were good quality size fish. Sun Sept 20 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a mixed bag of conditions and fish today on the Viking Starship. We started the day with a good drift and a mix of good sized Porgies and keeper Sea Bass. Wind against tide and deteriorating conditions had us anchored up off the south end of Block Island. We had a steady pick of smaller Porgies and a few keeper Sea Bass. Conditions improved and we were able to get back to one of our favorite spots where we anchored up and and finished the day with some larger Porgies, quality Sea Bass, a few Trigger fish and some Bluefish. Pool winners today were the father/son team of Julio and Rafaek Genao of Washington Heights NYC. First place was a 2.5 pound Porgy and edible pool was a 4.4 pound Knothead Sea Bass. Tomorrow’s trip is CANCELLED…
