Fishing Reports

Mon Sept 7 – Thurs Sept 10 – 3 Day TNT – Viking Star

Capt Steven Sr reports a productive trip on the Viking Star. The first day we trolled a couple of Yellowfin on the way out. We also got in some bottom fishing and it was very good. We had Tile, Hake, Cod and jigged a White Marlin. After that we set up for the night bite where we had 3 Yellowfin and got 1 Swordfish in the boat. Two Swordfish were released and we had a lot of other bites broken off. On day two we got on the troll and it didn’t produce. Bottomfishing was good for the first 4 hours then it slowed down.  We then had a few Yellowfin trolling and diamond jigging. On the night bite Tiger Sharks up to 1,500 lbs found us so we called it a trip! We did troll 3 more Yellowfin on…

Wed Sept 9 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a good morning of fishing over by the lighthouse this morning. We started out with some nice long drifts at the Lighthouse, we caught small to medium Porgies. We then decided to go a little down the beach and we anchored up there. We caught mostly large Porgies while there. We went Sea Bassing and had to pick through a bunch of small one but we got out fair share of keepers. The pool winner was Konstantions Koufalis from Queens, NY with a 2.7 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Kashka Huges from Brooklyn, NY with a 3 lb Sea Bass.
