Mon Aug 19 to Tue Aug 20 – 36 Hour Tuna Private Charter – Viking Fivestar

Capt Steven Jr reports another good trip on our 36 Hour Private Charter with 19 Yellow Fin up to 91.7 lbs! We stayed closer to home this trip and found fish flying out of the water when we arrived. A couple of fish were around 50 lbs, but the majority of them were 60-80 lbs. Overall a great trip with an awesome group of guys and good fishing. Tue Aug 20 – Half Day PM

Capt Mike reports steady fishing on the Viking Star. We had a mix of SeaBass, Porgies and good size Fluke. The first place pool winner was Jason Warner from Woodbridge, CT with a 7 lb Fluke. The second place pool winner was John Matheson from Ft. Hawn, SC with a 5.75 lb Fluke.

Fri Aug 16 – 48 Hour Tuna Charter – Viking Fivestar

Capt Steven Jr reports another great trip offshore this weekend with 19 big Yellow Fin up to 124lbs!! We had a steady pick of fish all day long on the troll and the night chunk remains quiet. We only had one fish around 50 lbs and the rest were all 75 lbs or bigger!! We only weighed 2 of the bigger fish and they came in at 121 lbs and 124 lbs! We had 2 other fish that were very close in size and another 4 fish that were right around the 100 lb mark. Definitely the best sized fish that we have seen in a number of years. Tue Aug 21 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports a good morning on the Viking Stariper. We had a lot of SeaBass, Porgies and a couple of keeper Fluke. The first place pool winner was Joseph Miele from Cortland Manor, NY with a 4.9 Fluke. The second place pool winner was Robert Warner from Woodbridge, CT with a 4.6 lb Fluke.

Tue Aug 20 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports EXCELLENT fishing on the Viking Star. We started out at the lighthouse and it was so good we left early to hit the SeaBass grounds. It was loaded with Porgies there and we had to pick thru them for the SeaBass. Everyone went home with their limits. The pool winner was Loukas Panagiutou from Astoria, Queens with a 3.2 lb Scup.

Mon Aug 19 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Mon Aug 19 -Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass

Captain Dave reports another excellent day fishing aboard the Viking Stariper.We left the Montauk Harbor shrouded in fog and made our way towards the Montauk Lighthouse. From the very first drift we had excellent Porgy fishing with a mix of medium to large Porgies. after loading up on Porgies we took a little ride to the East where in one drift, our anglers managed to take their limit in quality large Sea Bass up to 5 pounds.There were some good sized Porgies mixed in as well. No keeper Fluke or exotics today. The pool winner was Angel Rodriguez from Brooklyn NY with a 3.11 pound Scup.

Mon Aug 19 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Dave G reports a good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star in foggy conditions. The fish were biting from the first drop to the last. We ended up with a load of jumbo Porgies, big Sea Bass and 2 keeper Fluke. The first place pool winner was Michael Coyne of West Islip NY with a 6.25 pound Fluke and second place went to Denis O’ Brien of Dobbs Ferry NY.

Sun Aug 18- Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass.

Fabulous fishing in the fog! Captain Dave reports from the Viking Starship. We had excellent conditions around the lighthouse where we had very good Porgy fishing. Later we did a Sea Bass drift out closer to Block Island where we got great action but had to pick through a lot of shorts in the beginning. Fortunately there were plenty of quality keeper Sea Bass and plenty of large Porgies in the mix. The 1st place pool winner was Warren Bennett from Bristol PA, with a 2.2 lb Porgy. The second place pool winner was Ravi Ramodass from Bronx NY, with a 4.2 lb Sea Bass. +3

Sat Aug 18 – 1/2 Day PM

Capt Dave reports a good afternoon on the Viking Star. We had a lot of action, but most of the Fluke were shorts with a few keepers. We also had a bunch of Porgies, some SeaBass and Mackerel. The first place pool winner was Gregor with a 3 lb Fluke. The second place pool winner was Joseph Janovic with a 2.3 lb Fluke.
