Mon Nov 13 Viking Starship

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a very good day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We had excellent porgy fishing all day! Nice JUMBO porgies today. Then we went for the sea bass and it was okay, there were a few dogfish around, but we ended up doing pretty good and everyone had close to or had their limit of sea bass. We also had 4 keeper cod and a few blues in the mix. Today’s pool winner was Christos Bakatsias of Lerner, NY with a HUGE 4.1lb porgy.

Block Island Cod and Sea Bass – Limited Passenger Capt Steven Sr reports good fishing aboard the Viking Star. Despite having to work through the dogfish, we caught knothead sea bass all day and a bunch of cod. Sun Nov 12 Viking Starship

Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reporrts very good porgy fishing this morning in the shallow water.  We eventually picked up and moved to find some sea bass.  The dogfish were thick but we steadily picked through them and caught plenty of sea bass and a few cod.  Today’s first place pool winner was Jorge Vasquez of Brentwood, NY with a 3lb porgy.  The second place pool winner was Barry Wauchope of Bablyon, NY with a 11lb cod.  

Sat Nov 11 – Viking Star

Block Island Cod & Sea Bass Capt Steven Sr reports a slow start to the day. Throughout the day it got better and we had a steady pick of Cod, Sea Bass and Porgies and we put a nice catch together. The Cod pool winner was Fred Schneider from Huntington, NY with an 11 pounder….

Sat Nov 11-Viking Starship

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship. We had nice size porgies close to the island and the action was good. After that we went out looking for Sea Bass where we found nice size fish in the deep, but we had to battle the dogfish. We also found nice Cod in the 8 to 14 lb range. The pool winner was Charalampo from Warren, NJ with a 4 lb Porgy.

Tue Nov 7 – Viking Fivestar

Thurs Nov 9 Viking Starship

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We started out porgy fishing and there were tons of porgies coming over the rail. Then we went a bit offshore looking for some sea bass. We found some really nice quality sea bass in the mix of a lot of porgies and a few dogfish around, but in the end everyone had close to their limit of sea bass. We also had about a dozen codfish. Today’s first place pool winner was Ifa Gordon of the Bronx with a 3.4lb porgy and in second place was Billy Manraj of Queens with a 15.2lb cod.

Tue Nov 7

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports decent fishing on the Viking Starship. The Porgies & Sea Bass bit well with most anglers retaining their limits. We had better sized Sea Bass today up to 5 lbs and the Porgies were mixed size. The pool winner was Henry Logan from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.4 lb Porgy.
