Block Island Cod and Sea Bass LTD Viking Star Captain Steven Jr reports that despite a rough, rainy day we put a good catch together. Everyone who put in the time in at the rail had their limit of nice sea bass with a couple cod, with some scup in the mix. The sea bass pool was around 5lbs and the cod pool was taken by a 12 pounder.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports a good day with a little bit of everything on the Viking Starship. We started in the shallow water close to Block Island, but the action dropped off so we did not stay very long. We then moved offshore into the deeper water and had a nice mixed bag of Porgies, Sea Bass and Bluefish. We made a couple of drops and had good action on all of them. The pool winner for both pools was Aaron Kalladeen from Hillside, NJ with a 3.2 lb Porgy and a 14.4 lb Cod. All fishing trips are cancelled for Sunday November 19th due to the gale force winds expected.

Block Island Cod, Sea Bass, Blackfish Capt Steven Jr reports that we chipped away today and put a good catch together! We only had a couple of Cod, but we did catch a nice load of Sea Bass and a good shot of Togs!

Block Island Cod & Sea Bass – Limited Passenger Capt Steven Sr reports a tough day on the Viking Star, but we put a catch together. We had a lot of dogs in the morning so we moved off to keep clear of them and had a pick of Sea Bass, some Cod, lots of Porgies, Bluefish and a Bonita. A real mixed bag! When the wind finally dropped out we drifted and we saw some really nice catches with nice big Sea Bass and eliminated the dogfish. The drifting produced better fishing today than anchoring. The Cod pool winner was Tony Ho from Queens, NY with a 12 pounder. The Sea Bass pool winner was Jonathon Gomez from Hampton Bays, NY with a 4.2 pounder.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports good fishing again on the Viking Starship. We had success like yesterday in the shallow water by Block Island. There was a big improvement from yesterday on the Sea Bass grounds where it was not nearly as bad with the dogfish. We had Sea Bass up to 5 lbs, nice Porgies and a couple of Cod. The first place pool winner was Mike Collins from Newport, RI with a 3.5 lb Porgy. The second place pool winner was Siu Ching from New York, NY with a 12 lb Cod.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports another great day of Porgy fishing on the Viking Starship. The Porgies were plentiful close to the island in the shallow water. We then went offshore to deeper water and unfortunately the “dog”s were hungry! It made for tackle busting Sea Bass fishing, even on the higher pieces, but everyone got a few. There were also a few Cod as well. The pool winner was Gho Ghan from Queens with a 3.16 lb Porgy.
