Full Day Local Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a bit of a slower day today aboard the Viking Starship. We only had a handful of keeper sea bass and a decent catch of good quality porgies. Today’s pool winner was Karoslav Kryuonyuk of Brooklyn with a nice 3.12lb porgy.

Full Day Local Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass Capt Dave reports a slow day on the Viking Starship. We had mostly small sea bass today with a handful of keepers. The porgies we did have were quality sized fish. The pool winner was Jeff Greenbaum from Yonkers, NY with a 4.1 lb Porgy.

Full Day Local Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports tough conditions on the Viking Starship due to the weather. We had a lot of action fishing today with small Sea Bass and a handful of decent stuff in between. Most of the Porgies we had were keeper size with a few Jumbo mixed in. The pool winner was Derrick Buchanan from Teaneck, NJ with a 2.75 lb Porgy.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. The morning started a bit slow, but it picked up as the day went on. We had a handful of nice mixed size porgies and also about 30 keeper codfish. Today’s pool winner was James Hom of Manhattan with a nice 3lb porgy. Please note that tomorrow’s trip will still depart at 5am and return at 3pm, but it will be a Local trip for porgies and sea bass.   ***Beginning on Wednesday Oct 4th, we will depart at 6am and return at 3pm and the fare will be $100 for the Full Day Local Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass trip aboard the Viking Starship. SCHEDULE UPDATE

The Viking Starship will now be sailing for a Local Montauk Jumbo Porgy and Knothead Sea Bass trip. Beginning on Wednesday Oct 4th, we will depart at 6am and return at 3pm and the fare will be $100. Black sea bass is CLOSED in Federal waters (Block Island waters), but is OPEN in NY State waters. The Viking Starship will be fishing in local (Montauk) waters for Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass from now until Oct 21st. On Oct 22nd, when black sea bass re opens in Federal waters, the Viking Starship will resume our Block Island Jumbo Porgy and Knothead Sea Bass trips.

Half Day Fishing PM Captain Sarah reports a very good afternoon of fishing today. It was red hot fishing and everyone had their fill. The pool winner was Mike Alfieri of North Bellmore with a nice 4lb sea bass.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. It was a slow pick of nice porgies all day. Today’s pool was a tie between Luis Minaya of the Bronx and Andrea Mckenzie of Brooklyn, both with nice 3.4lb porgies.
