Sat Sept 2

Night Striped Bass Captain Carl reports once again nothing good to report. Bad tide and bad conditions made for bad fishing. We are looking forward to things improving on our Wednesday Full Moon trip and Thursday Friday and Saturday night trips as well where we will have favorable tide.

Full Day Limited Jumbo Fluke and Knothead Sea Bass The first place pool winner was Dong Choi of Palisades Park with a 5.5lb fluke and in second place was Michael Villa of Maspeth with a nice big 4.5lb sea bass.

Half Day Fishing PM Captain Joey D reports a bonanza of an afternoon aboard the Viking Star. We had non stop action that yielded lots of nice huge sea bass, porgies and fluke. Today’s first place pool winner was Gus Jerrell of Brooklyn with a nice 8lb fluke and in second place was Kristine with a 7lb fluke.

Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We were mostly offshore today with the large crowd, anchored up and had a steady pick all day of mixed size porgies and sea bass. We also had some mackerel and blues in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Jorge Paderkis of queens with a 3.11lb porgy and in second place was Kenny Chan of Brooklyn with a HUGE 4.8lb sea bass.

Night Striped Bass Capt Carl reports another tough night of Bass fishing. We were plagued again with outgoing tide which has not produced for us all season long. We caught a couple of blues, but no bass. Paul Kowtna from Garden City, NY took the pool with a 6 pound bluefish.

Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a very good day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We had lots of nice JUMBO porgies and sea bass with non stop action. Today’s pool winner was Donald Moy with a HUGE 4.9lb porgy. The bag limits for both porgies and sea bass have just gone up, so make sure you make your reservations now! You can now keep 45 porgies at 10 inches and 8 sea bass at 15 inches until Oct 31st.

Half Day Fishing AM Captain Dave G reports a good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star despite the breezy conditions. The rods were bending all morning and we ended up with a nice catch of sea bass porgies and fluke. Today’s first place pool winner was Brian Thompson of NYC with a 4.6lb fluke and in second place was 8 year old Euan Rafiy of Oyster Bay with a 4.5lb sea bass.
