Whale Watching We found whales again! Mom and calf humpbacks. A gorgeous day on the water was made even better by finding 3 humpbacks and spending time with 2 of the 3, a mom/calf pair. While we had to go further on this trip we were rewarded with a beautiful pair of humpbacks, synchronized swimming and diving and many tail throws to the calf. These were only surpassed by their close approach to the Viking Star on several occasions. Beautiful to watch. Even though there was another humpback near us we didn’t have time to spend with it. Next Week? Totals: 3 Humpbacks 5 Cory’s Shearwaters 10 Wilsons Storm Petrels

Night Striped Bass Capt Carl reports another FINE night of Bass fishing aboard the Viking Starship. We caught a few big blues, as well as scup and seabass in the beginning of the trip with the outgoing tide, then had to wait a bit for the incoming flood tide when around 9:15pm we started to see a few Striped Bass. As the tide grew stronger, the fishing got better with a mix size of Bass again from 30 inches to over 40 lbs! We ended up just a couple fish shy of our boat limit tonight, and Segundo Tacuri from Montauk, NY took first place in the pool with a 41.7 pound whopper! Justin Alicea from Sleepy Hollow, NY took second with a 38.2 pound bruiser!
