Wednesday October 21st

Montauk Fall Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an EXCELLENT day on the water, nice weather and good fishing lots of market size porgies and sea bass came over the rails today.The Pool winner Mr Danny Ko from Brooklyn, NY with a 4.2lbs Porgy Second Place Mr Ronald Burrus from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.75lbs Sea bass.

Montauk Fall Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a very good day despite the terrible conditions. One drop was all porgies and the other all sea bass. The pool winner was Joseph Leesang from Brooklyn, NY with a 4.3lb porgy.

Mon Oct 19

Montauk Fall Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports another  good day on the porgies and sea bass grounds. We had some nice market size scup and sea bass in the mix. The pool winner was Mr Jose Sopi from Manhattan, NY with a 4.1lb porgy.

Mixed Bag-AM Captain Carl reports that mainly sea bass were caught on the trip today. There was action, but the porgies were mostly throw backs. Montauk Jumbo Fall Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day on the water. There were plenty of porgies and sea bass for all! The first place pool winner was Isiah Slaughter from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.5lb scup.  The second place pool winner was Juan Carlos Moreno from Corona, Queens, NY with a 4lb sea bass.

Sat Oct 17

Montauk Brewing Company Charter Captain Carl reports a good morning with the guys from the MTK Brewing Co. this morning. We tried for some bass and blues, but we had nothing and so we switched over to sea bass. We ended up with a good amount of jumbo sea bass and it was a great morning! Night Striped Bass Captain Carl reports an unfortunate night of bass fishing, we didn’t have any bites, not even a blue. It was a dead night. Montauk Fall Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing through the tough conditions. We picked a few here and there all day- we had sea bass, porgies and some codfish. Today’s first place pool winner was Robert Blake of Queens with a 3.75lb porgy and in second place was Gamal Mikheail with a big 5lb trigger fish.

Thur Oct 15

2 Night Tuna Ultra LTD Captain Carl reports absolutely phenomenal fishing on our 2 Night Tuna Trip! We got to the grounds and anchored up. It took a few hours to get a bite, besides a small swordfish we released. But then we had a steady pick of yellowfin and landed a 180lb big eye! After sun up, the bite stopped, so we made a move and anchored up again and it was game on! We had lots of large albacore and more big yellowfin come in frenzys! We filled every box we had in a couple hours until we had no more room! It was sick! Montauk Jumbo Fall Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an ok day on the porgy grounds we had some nice size fish come over the rails but you had to work for it. We had porgies, Sea bass, Cod and blue fish in the mix. The pool winner was Mr Clifton Lampley from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.5lbs porgy Second Place went to Spoony from Brooklyn, NY with a 9lb Cod.

Tuesday Oct 13

Montauk Fall Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports another slow day today aboard the Viking Starship. Even though it was a bit slow, all the fish that we had come up were nice big fish. We had porgies, sea bass and some codfish in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Robert Batt of Floral Park with a 3.5lb porgy and in second place was Mike Hay of Brooklyn with a 14.5lb codfish.

Montauk Jumbo Fall Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a very slow day of fishing today. We were marking them, but the fish were just not biting! Kamal Abdelwahed from Astoria, NY was the big winner of both pools today! He had a 3lb porgy and an 8lb cod fish. 2 Day Tuna Sorry for the late report. We Fished Friday night and returned on Saturday. Fishing was ok, as soon as we anchored up we had an Albacore and a Yellow fin within 5 minutes, Then we continued to pick away at the Albacores. We also hooked into a Big Eye but after a half hour we lost it. Everything slowed down as the weather fell apart, and we caught just a couple more albies and a big Yellow Fin.
