Fishing Reports

Sun May 26 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Mike reports a decent afternoon of fishing today on the Viking Star. We had some really good action on a couple of drifts with 3-4 keeper Fluke with the light crowd. We saw a lot of short Fluke again and some small Porgies, plenty of fish to keep lines bent. We did not do…

Sun May 26 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports a much better day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starlite. It was a one shot kind of day. We made our first and only drop of the day, which stayed active and constant the whole time so we stayed there and picked away at mixed sizes Porgies, from small to large. …

Sun May 26 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports an action filled morning on the Viking Star. We had a decent shot this morning with some nice sized keeper Fluke early. As the day carried on the bite stayed consistent, but the size dropped, pulling up mostly short Fluke that we had to throw back. But overall it was a good…

Sat May 25 – Night Squid Jigging

Capt Carl reports a frustrating night on the squid grounds. Our first couple drops were duds, but our last drop we had thousands of squid all around the boat attacking a giant ball of bait attracted to our bright lights, but we could not get them to bite our jigs. High hook only had 10. He was using a small light weight Yozuri jig on the surface. It was a very finicky and frustrating bite… maybe it was the moon? We know where they are, and we want to give it another shot next Saturday night, June 1. Sailing at 8PM. IMG_6947(1)

Capt Mike reports slow fishing this afternoon on the Viking Star. We did manage several short Fluke and some nice SeaBass which are unfortunately out of season. No pool this afternoon with the light crowd. We will be heading out tomorrow for both 1/2 Day trips at 8am & 1pm. Check out our new “Merch”…

Sat May 25 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports a slow pick of mixed size fish on the Viking Starlite. The Porgies were off the bite today probably due to the full moon, spawning and a lot of boat traffic.  It took awhile to get them coming today, but everyone managed to go home with some fish.

Sat May 25 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports a slow morning on the Viking Star. We landed a couple of  nice keeper Fluke along with some shorts and some short Striped Bass. We also had nice action with Sea Bass that unfortunately had to be thrown back because the season is not open. The pool winners was Emily Davis from…

Fri May 24 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing today on the Viking Starlite. This morning started excellent with double header Porgies flying over the rail. The size wasn’t quite what its been, with a lot of throwbacks and smaller sized keepers, mostly mediums. As the day carried on the bite dropped to a very slow…

Wed May 22 – Montauk Spring Porgies

Capt Dave reports a pretty decent day of fishing today on the Viking Starlite. We didn’t have to stray too far from the Island today, with a slow start to the bite we made two drops had ourselves a solid and steady bite. As the day carried on we sa double-header Porgies coming over the…
