Sun Oct 18 -Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass – Viking Superstar
Capt Steven Jr reports a decent day with steady action on the Viking Superstar. We had a nice mix of Porgies, Sea Bass and about 15 Cod. The Porgies were of mixed size and the Sea Bass were quality fish. First place in the pool went to Jose Leon of Briarcliff, NYC with a 3.2 lb Porgy The edible pool also went to Jose Leon with a 12 lb Cod.
Sun Oct 18 -Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass – Viking Starship
Capt Dave reports an okay day on the Viking Starship. We moved a lot of times today. Fish at every drop, the bite just didn’t last. The Porgies were mostly medium, the Sea Bass were all a nice size. About 30 Cod came over the rail today. First place in the pool went to Vasilios Niamantakis from Brooklyn, NY with a 2.8 il Porgy. Edible pool went to Bernaldo Castillo of Sunnyside, Queens with a 14.2 lb Cod.
Sun Oct 18 – Ultra Ltd Blackfish & Sea Bass
Capt Steven Sr reports a tough day on the Viking Starlite. Lots of tide with the New Moon on Friday and an East breeze that strengthened through the afternoon. Some of our anglers got their limit of Blackfish, but not all. We had a nice pick of Knothead Sea Bass and some large Porgies. John Shatinsky of Massapequa, NY won the Blackfish pool with a 6.2 lber. Anthony Cairo won the Sea Bass pool with a 3.3 lber.
Sat Oct 17 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a decent day despite the rainy and windy conditions to start off the trip. It was pretty much the same as we have been seeing this week. Plenty of SeaBass along with mostly medium Porgies and some large ones mixed in. We also had about 30 Cod. The first place pool winner was Vinroy Jarrett from Bronx, NY with a 3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Luis Pastrana from Edison, NJ with a 15 lb Cod.
Fri Oct 16 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports okay fishing on the Viking Starship. The Porgies were mostly medium size today, a bit smaller than we have been seeing. We had very nice quality SeaBass, quite a few Cod and some Bluefish. The pool winner was Hakeem Abdul-Shaheed from Atlantic City, NY with a 2 lb Porgy. We are sold out tomorrow. Thurs Oct 15 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports that the trip was a little slower than yesterday on the Viking Starship. We had a steady mix of Porgies and SeaBass. The Porgies were mostly mediums with a handful of large to jumbos. We had over 30 Cod caught today. The largest amount we have had so far. There were also a couple of Bluefish. Rohan Green from the Bronx was the first place pool winner with a 2 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Siu Cheng from Queens with an 8 lb Cod.
Wed Oct 14 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports an excellent day of fishing on today’s trip. We had some really nice mix of Porgies and Sea Bass and over 20 plus Cod up to 15 Lbs. Today’s Porgy pool was won by Alfredo Olivio of Queens, NY with a 2.5lb Porgy.
Wed Oct 14- Local Cod & SeaBass

Sun Oct 11- 1/2 Day Fishing PM
Capt Dave G reports a good afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Starlite. We had a nice catch of Sea Bass and Porgies in rough conditions. The pool winner was another young angler 11 year old Daniel Dowling from Bridgehampton, NY with a 3.3 lb Sea Bass. Today ends our 1/2 Day – Mixed Bag trips for the season.
