Saturday July 20

Half Day Fluke PM We had ok fishing in the afternoon due to conditions but we still managed to put some fish on the boat. Terri Coleman from Holbrook NY took the pool with a 5.25lb fluke and the Galletta family had a total of 3 keepers! Good job Steve and Chris! Full Day Montauk Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing today. There were plenty of porgies around, but we also had a few fluke. Mostly everyone had their limit with fish up to 3.5 lbs! Today’s first place pool winner was Ronnie Pringle of Bellport, NY with a 3.5 porgy and in second was Valentine Rodriguez of Puerto Rico with a 4.5lb fluke. Half Day Fluke AM Captain Steven Sr reports a windy morning on water. The wind got better as the day…

Block Island Behemoth Striped Bass Friday July 19 Block Island Behemoth Bass   Captain Ant reports a Bassacre over at the Island last night and this morning.  From start to finish it was multi fish drifts and ended the night totaling 52 keeper BI Bass.  We had to change zone…s due to last nights breeze and a moon ebb tide and we found perfect drifting conditions, and catching conditions.  Several fares had their limit including our good friend Rodney from Delaware, Frank Stoutenberg, Mike Sadowski, John Rewinski, just to name a few. Joe Khamis, the Derby winner two years ago did his best to get atop the leader board but only managed a 38.2lb Block Island Behemoth.  Most fish were in the 20lb class last night, still quality but plenty of quantity along with it.  Here are a few photos,…

Thursday July 18

Night Striped Bass Captain Ant reports a very good night of Bassing overall once we found the where the Moo Cows were grazing.  We started at our jigging spot but had to deal with the slack tide.  We managed a few keepers but double the amount of shorts so we MOOOved on after about an hour of combing.  The next spot produced 1, but a larger one.  Next drift none, we MOOOved on.  Finally we had a 2 fish drift…we weren’t MOOOVING.  We drilled it out for the rest of the night with 1 or 2 a drift but all slobs.  We totaled 6 fish in the 30’s including pool winner Chris Hunter from MOOOntauk with a 38.1lber.  Chris “Cool Hand” Luke had a 36.7.  And then there were the young ladies…14 Year old Jenna Fusco nailed a 36.6lber and…

Half Day Fluke PM Captain Joe reports a good afternoon of fishing today. Again we had mostly nice fluke, but we pulled up some more porgies and really nice sea bass. There is a full moon coming up, and we think that after the moon the porgy and sea bass bite will just continue to get better and better. Today’s first place pool winner was Paul Houstin of Lowdow UK with a 6.7 lb fluke and in second place was Allyson Matty of Plainview NY with a 6.1 lb fluke. Full Day Montauk Porgy and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a slower day of fishing today. There was no wind and not much to the tide, so in the hotter weather it wasn’t as good fishing as yesterday. We still made out with a decent amount of fish. Today’s pool…

John Viol 2nd Annual Codfest Capt Carl reports a great 2nd annual “Codfest” charter by John and Diane Viol! We traveled far and deep to some offshore wrecks and had Cod on all of them! Some of the wrecks were loaded up, and some just OK, but overall there were loads and loads of fish to filet by the end of the first day! There were also a few small pollacks, tons of cunners, a couple sow hake, and other wreck dwellers. Coolers were full by the end of the day, so we steamed overnight back to coxes ledge for day two. The morning saw some quality fish coming over the rails off of a couple different drops, and they were biting the jigs very well too! Day one was for quantity, and day two saw the quality. Overall it…

Monday July 15

Sunset Striped bass jigging trip Capt. Ant reports one of the most beautiful sunsets ever on the Sunsets Striper trip.  Oh yeah and it was a Monday Night Massacre!!!  Fishing started slow with one keeper and 1 short on the first 5 drifts so we made a drastic move and it paid off big time as we hit the mother load.  Nothing huge but perfect jigging fish as we tallied 31 keepers to 23 pounds.  The best part of it was that 24 of our fares landed at least 1 keeper…. what an unbelievable bunch of anglers.  Mark Foster, Marco Pierson, Rob Brown, Chris Sauza,  Bill Podlewski, and Radoslaw Dabrowski all had their limit.  Peter Foster of Wading River took the pool with a 23lber and Mark Foster of Stormville NY took 2nd with a 21lber…way to keep it in…

Flood Chaser Striped Bass Capt Ant reports that we grinded out a catch last night on Flood Chaser Bass, but it was grueling. It seemed every drift started with a fish and followed with a dud. the elbow area was overtaken with gorilla blues and after having only one bass where we bailed them on Thursday, we moved on. Next spot we had one then three, then 0, 0, 0… We tried about 7 other rocks and again 1 here 1 there… On our last drop we had a beauty, the pool winner, a MOO COW LINESIDER caught by Donna Dersch from Syosset, NY. It weighed in at 38lb 17oz! JB Breitstone from Long Beach NY took second place with a 30lb 7oz striper. Overall we caught a fillet a fare. Mike Sadowski had his limit to 20lbs. Half Day…

Friday July 12

Block Island Behemoth Striped Bass Trip Capt. Ant reports a difficult night of bassing on the BI Behemoth trip although we did nail one Behemoth Bass of 48.7lbs.  We actually started where we left them the night before since it was on our way across the pond but the 20kt east wind made drifting squarely next to impossible.  We had a few fish on and a few fish lost. With nothing to show after 4 drifts we headed over to the Island.  The drift was a bit better but the seas were a bit angrier.  Again we missed a few bites, lost a couple immediately.  When conditions aren’t ideal you really have to let them eat.  On the third drift, Frank Graci of Lindenhurst let one eat, a 32.7lb slob.  The next drift Chris “Cool Hand” Luke hooked into a…

Viking Fivestar 48 Hour Offshore

Viking Fivestar 48 Hour Offshore Report We just returned from our first trip to the edge this year looking for the pelagic species. Overall a slow go this time out, the water just broke the 70 degree mark out there last week and had signs of life around but not much as far as tunas. The first day trolling only produced 1 small yellow fin a mahi a couple skip jacks and a big blue marlin estimated around the 400lb mark. The Marlin put a good show on for us jumping over a dozen time coming closer to the boat every time. Come night fall we had tons of squid and dolphins around the boat for the better part of the night but only had a boarder line keeper mako which we released and a few slashed squid baits from…
