John Viol 2nd Annual Codfest
Capt Carl reports a great 2nd annual “Codfest” charter by John and Diane Viol! We traveled far and deep to some offshore wrecks and had Cod on all of them! Some of the wrecks were loaded up, and some just OK, but overall there were loads and loads of fish to filet by the end of the first day! There were also a few small pollacks, tons of cunners, a couple sow hake, and other wreck dwellers. Coolers were full by the end of the day, so we steamed overnight back to coxes ledge for day two. The morning saw some quality fish coming over the rails off of a couple different drops, and they were biting the jigs very well too! Day one was for quantity, and day two saw the quality. Overall it was a great trip with a great crowd and thank you again John and Diane Viol (and Gizmo) for putting this together again! Mike Bergmann from Stoney Brook, NY took top honors with a 25 lb Cod! Kenny Pomeranz from NY took the edible pool with a 22 lb Cod… Barely edging out Capt. JP AND Robby Togilators giant sow hakes

Half Day Fluke PM
Captain Joe reports an excellent day of fishing that could not have been better. We had beautiful weather, a perfect tide and fish that were biting. Everybody went home with fish and all were happy. A couple of sea bass were caught this afternoon as well. It was a textbook trip. The pool winner was Rich Marino from Islip, NY with a 4.5 lb Fluke.

Full Day Porgies
Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing today. There were many nice size porgies and sea bass. Some fluke were caught as well. We had one keeper striped bass. The pool winner was Chris Kara from Westbury, NY with a huge 4 1/2 lb jumbo porgy!
