Night Striped Bass

Well I’m at a loss for words.  We changed zones and went to the east and picked a few and also had a bunch of blues but the bite continues to be a delicate one.  Perhaps the Bass Gods are evening the score for a terrific summer, all I know is the gray hairs are starting to outnumber the browns.  Happy for Martin Wellen Dowd who sterned it tonight and nailed a keeper.  “GMC” Jimmy had a few blues to 10lbs as did Jonny “Jesus of the Elbow” . Pool Winners were:John Springhorn from Patchouge, NY 23lbs Second place went to Mr Peter Helfrich from Stony Brook, NY 16lbs

Half Day Fluke Pm
Capt Ant reports a sensational afternoon of both fishing and weather.  After the morning blow things settled down and we found Fluke Sea Bass and Porgy’s chewing ferociously.  We averaged a keeper per customer.  Steven Bento had two keeper fluke, 2 keeper sea bass and a fat Ocean Porgy that made for a nice bag of meat.  Pool winners were: Frankie Delia age 7 from Port Jefferson, NY with a 6.8lb Second Place Rich Mohlamnn from Centerport, NY

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass

Captain Dave reports a really good day of fishing aboard the Viking Starship. We had lots of porgies and sea bass, a bit on the smaller side, and a ton of bluefish. Today’s first place pool winner was Wayne Aiken of Queens with a big 4lb porgy, and in second was Baldwin Henry of Dix Hills with an 8lb bluefish.
