Full Moon

Captain Ant reports it was a Beautiful night for Bailing Behemoths at Block.  We had perfect conditions, a full moon tide and a turbulent ocean absolutely turned on the feedbag as they bit from start to finish.  We were 8 fish away from limiting out the boat and honestly we should have been home early with the amount of fish on that were lost.  They were just fighting like steamrollers last night and they got bigger and bigger as it got sloppier and sloppier.  Three 40 plus pound Behemoths hit the deck last night and unfortunately one weighed in just shy of 49lbs on the ride home.  Selfish of us to hope for a 50 but it most likely was until Hank “One Shot” Lackner gaffed it right in the heart.  Congratulations to Gary Kolesar from Patchogue who had a helluva night with the big boys.  Anthony DePaolo and John Delany had twins with fins as each landed 42lbers to split second place in the pool.  Gary Bigfish had 4 to 36lbs.  Famous author George Flyboy Jehn had 7 to 33lbs (orl) but lost what he called his biggest fish of the year after about a 5 minute battle….60lb leader wasn’t a match for that brute.  Bobbo smoked Bobbo Jr last night with 3 to 34 (orl).  Bobbo Jr, listen to your elders next time!!!:)  Thanks to all for participating and fishing hard on another epic night of bassing on the mighty Starship!!!!!
We have a bit of a schedule change for this week.  Due to weather on Wednesday we are moving our daytime Behemoth trip to Friday 5a-1p.  Fare is $125 and the trip is limited to 16 on the Stariper.  We are also offering a combo deal on Friday.  Fish both day and night Behemoth trips and get $50 off.  On Thursday we are running two 6hr trips, from 6a-12noon and 6p-12midnight each at a fare of $85.  Fish both and get $20 off.  And don’t forget to get your Striper Loyalty cards at the office.  Fish any 5 and get 1 free….Behemoth Fever…Catch It!!!!!!

Montauk Local Porgies and Sea Bass
Captain Dave reports a nice mix of large porgies and some sea bass. This was our last day on the Local fishing grounds, and tomorrow we will begin going to Block Island for Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass from 5am until 3pm with a fare of $95. Today’s pool winner was Benjamin Hercules from Hempsted, NY with a 3lb porgy.
