Block Island Bottom-Cod, Sea Bass, Blackfish – Viking Fivestar
We had another good trip fishing around Block. We started off sea bassing on our first drop where we had good fishing everywhere we went. Everyone had their limit of nice sea bass and some scup in the mix, but the cod were scarce again, but we did find a few. Then we went inshore black fishing and had a couple fish on each drop, but the super moon tide into the wind had everything screwed up. It was tough conditions but we still put a good day together.

Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports excellent porgy fishing today. They were decent sized with some smaller ones mixed in. It was a slow pick of sea bass. Some did well and others did not. We also had about 10 keeper cod from 7 to 14 lbs. The first place pool winner was Jorge Naula from Brooklyn, NY with a 4.3 lb porgy. The edible pool winner was Hou Dao from Flushing, NY with a 14 lb cod. Unfortunately the trip for tomorrow is cancelled due to weather, but it is looking good for the rest of the week.
