Thur May 11-Capt Steven’s 2 Day Deep Water Exploratory Trip

Captain Steven’s 2 Day Deep Water Exploratory Trip – 5/8 to 5/11 – Viking Starship
Capt Steven Sr reports that we started out slow with the moon tide from the east and the wind from the south where the drift was not favorable. We found fish here and there with some good drifts and some slow ones. There were mixed size Tile from kitten’s to large and we also had a few Hake in the mix as well. After Day 1 some guys had 15 fish and some guys had 2. Some were hot and some were not! Day 2 we started on some deep water wrecks only to find they were un-fishable due to sea bass. There were 4 to 6 pound sea bass in 420 feet of water with some Pollock mixed in. The Sea Bass took over so we moved to open bottom to find a pick of Tile and Hake. I decided to put a liitle more effort in and it was worth IT! We found LG, XLG, and XXLG Tiles, Hake and XL Cusk. It was Awesome!! Duane Sherard had 3 Tile Fish at 29, 33 and 38. Pete Ferguson had full coolers both days with two 30 pounders. Bruce and Barry Brandow had full coolers both days with a 32 lb and a 35 lb Tile. Mike Xenakis had a 42lb and 49lber. Brian Martin landed a 34lber and 37lber. It turned out to be a very good trip. Capt Steven Sr, Capt Dave, Steve, Gator, Debbie and Justin want to thank everyone for all of their support on these Explorer Trips.
