Fri Nov 11 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports really good fishing today on the Viking Superstar. We started the morning off fishing in the deeper water targeting the SeaBass. We had a good shot first thing with mostly keeper sized SeaBass. We then worked our way into some shallower water where we had excellent Porgy fishing. There was plenty of Porgy action ranging from large to jumbo size. After getting a good pile in there, we ventured out into about 100 feet of water where we had a great mix of both SeaBass and Porgies in the large size. The first place pool winner went to Hernu Xue from Staten Island with a 3.3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Claude Smith with a 5 lb SeaBass. We will not be sailing on the 5am Block Island Porgies and SeaBass trip tomorrow (Saturday, November 12th) due to poor weather conditions, but will be going out again Sunday, November 13th.
