Fri May 12-14th: 2 Day Gulf of Maine Special- 5 Star

Capt Steven Jr. reports an excellent trip this weekend. We finally got out on our first offshore trip of the year and put great trip together ground fishing up north. We had a big load of Pollock and Cusk with a decent shot of Haddock, Redfish some Whiting and a nice 50lb Halibut ! The first day was solid action for most of the day with lots of double header Pollock and Cusk with a few Haddock mixed in and the Halibut being the highlight of the day. We did have another larger Halibut on later in the day but after a 15 minute fight unfortunately the line parted. The second day we worked our way inshore and had slow morning to start and had to do some searching but by mid morning found a load of Redfish and a pick of Haddock to work on for the rest of the day. By the end of the trip everyone had a nice load of fish to go home with and a chunk of Halibut thanks to Bill for splitting the fish up for everyone on board.
We are trying to put another one of these Gulf of Maine trips together next weekend if we can get a few more guys together. Long range weather is looking good and the crew is excited to get back up there and getting another load of fish and a shot at a Halibut again.
