Thurs Sept 14 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a great day of fishing on the Viking Starship. We started off the morning fishing between Montauk and Block Island and had a good pick of very nice Porgies between large and jumbo size and a mixed pick of Seabass. After a few drifts the wind started to go against the tide and made for unfavorable conditions so we worked our way to the South of Block Island and got into some steady fishing. The pick was slow, but steady for sure with some very nice sized Seabass, decent sized Porgies, one keeper Striped Bass, and we even saw some large Cod fish. The pool winner today went to Ming Ng from New York City with a 3.5 lb. Porgy. We will NOT be sailing Friday, September 15th or Saturday, September 16th for our 5am Montauk Lighthouse Porgies and SeaBass due to weather from Hurricane Lee. a person holding a fish
