Fri Nov 3 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a pretty good day of fishing today on the Viking Star. This morning started off tough with the conditions bouncing us around a bit. This made for slower fishing, with not as many bites. As the weather cleared later in the day, we worked our way offshore and got into some high quality fishing. At no point was it red-hot, but the size was there. We saw lots of large and jumbo sized Porgies and SeaBass up to 4-5 lbs, along with a half dozen keeper Cod, and a thick pick of Mackerell. The first prize pool winner went to Robert Moore from Manorville with a 3 lb. Porgy. We are sailing for our Block Island Porgies and SeaBass again tomorrow at 5am on the Viking Superstar, the ticket office will be open at 4am.
