Thurs Oct 10 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports a pretty ok day of fishing today on the Viking Superstar. We stuck close to the island for the day to stay out of the rougher conditions from the bit of the groundswell and wind we had going on and had some pretty good action. The Porgy bite today was okay with mostly mediums coming up, we didn’t really see many larges or jumbos today, but steady pick of mediums. The SeaBass bite was a bit tough with a lot of little fish mixed in. We had a lot more throwbacks than keepers today along with a lot of Mackerell. The pool winner today went to Juan Mendez de la Cruz from Staten Island, NY with a 2.2 lb Porgy. We are definitely sailing again tomorrow at 5am for our Block Island Porgies and SeaBass on the Viking Star.
