Fri Sept 11 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship. We started off down the beach today, but it was a dead zone. There was a big ground swell on and the water was dirty resulting in no bites. So we headed offshore and had a little shot of Porgies and Sea Bass with everybody getting a pail. We headed closer to Block Island and had a handful of very nice size Porgies and A Lot of Sea Bass keepers with everyone retaining their limit. The biggest Sea bass was 18″.  There was a ton of Sea Bass action and even the shorts were on the larger size. The pool winner was Joe Floria from Queens, NY with a 3.2 lb Porgy.
