Sat July 9 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship. We drilled it out at the lighthouse all morning with a pick of large Porgies and some SeaBass. When the tide got too strong we anchored up down the beach. We had to move around a bit as the spots slowed down. Everywhere we tried there was a good pick of mixed Porgies. All in all not a bad day of fishing! The first place pool winner was Tien Tsu Chen from Flushing, Queens with a 2 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Cornell Armstrong with a Jumbo 4.5 SeaBass.

Fri July 8 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM
Capt Mike reports a tough afternoon on the Viking Star. We fought high drift speeds at the start, but settled in nicely later in the afternoon. There were some keeper Sea Bass, Fluke, and Porgy caught. The pool winner was Sophia Cotnoir from Selden, NY with a 2.8 lb Porgy.
Fri July 8 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass
Capt Dave reports a good day on the Viking Starship. It was VERY good first thing this morning until the tide started running too hard. We had mostly large Porgies by the lighthouse. We headed down the beach to get out of the tide and had more of the same very good fishing with mixed size Porgies and a handful of nice SeaBass. We had to pick through the smaller ones to get to the keepers. We also had Bluefish everywhere we fished. The pool winner was Rafael Varela from Central Islip with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy.
