Thurs May 30 – Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies
Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Capt Dave reports Jumbo Scup in local Montauk waters! We had a delicate pick of quality Porgies. All of the fish were real jumbos between 1 1/2 to 4 lbs. Everyone also had 1 or 2 Bluefish and some throwback SeaBass. There was no pool due to the light crowd today. We will now be fishing closer to home. Mon May 27 – Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies
Captain Dave reports a slow and steady pick of Porgies, Sea robin, and Weakfish. We road up the bay and caught a few good trophy fish. Everyone seemed happy and walked away with a few keepers. Congratulations to our first place winner, Enrique Diaz from Passaic, NJ with a 3 lb Scup. A beautiful day aboard the Viking Starship.
Mon May 27 – 1/2 Day – PM
Captain Phil reports a great day of fishing aboard the Viking Stariper. Flat calm and couldn’t get any better, lots of action and the poles were bent all day. Two keepers aboard the ship, and a whole lot of shorts released. The pool winner was Wendy Sandale of Selden, NY with her first ever 4.5 lb Fluke.
Sun May 26 – 1/2 Day PM
Capt Phil reports a ton of action on the Viking Stariper. Again it was a nice day out there and the Fluke were biting, but is was pretty much all shorts and a few keepers. The pool winner was Meital Fried from Brooklyn, NY with a 2 lb Fluke.
Sun May 26 – Montauk Spring Jumbo Porgies
Montauk Spring Jumbo Porgies Capt Dave reports a tougher than usual day on the Viking Starship. We tried out the close spot to start, but the bite was slow. We took the long ride and had a slow pick with some Jumbos in the mix. We also had some Bluefish. The first place winner was Patrick Smith from Roselle, NJ with a 4 1/4 lb Scup. The edible pool winner was Nolan Maiks from Valley Stream, Long Island with a 3 lb Bluefish. Capt Dave is hopeful we will be fishing by the lighthouse soon!

1/2 Day Fishing – AM Capt Phil reports a lot of action on the Viking Stariper. Unfortunately the action was mostly with shorts. We did manage one keeper Fluke.
Sat May 25 – 1/2 Day PM
1/2 Day Fishing – AM Capt Phil reports a slow afternoon on the Viking Stariper. We had a couple of short Fluke in the mix. There were a bunch of beautiful throwback SeaBass and some Bluefish. The pool winner was Angelo Demetroulakos from Brooklyn with a 3 lb Bluefish.
Fri May 24 – Striped Bass
Night Striped Bass Capt Phil reports a slow trip on the Viking Starship. There was action early on the jigs with only short Striped Bass and Bluefish. We then had slack tide which made the rest of the night quiet.
Sat May 25 – Montauk Spring Jumbo Porgies
Montauk Spring Jumbo Porgies Capt Dave reports a decent day on the Viking Starship. We tried the closer spot to start out, but is was slow. So we took the long ride and found a slow pick of good size Porgies. We also had a few Weakfish, a couple of keeper Fluke and a lot of Sea Robbins. The first place pool winner was Jose from Hempstead with a Jumbo 4 Lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Angel from Manhattan, NY with a 3 lb Fluke. We will be sailing Sunday and Monday at 4am on the 140′ Viking Starship. On Tuesday May 28th we will begin sailing at 5am.

1/2 Day Fishing – AM Capt Steven Jr reports a good morning on the Viking Stariper. We had action throughout the trip.
