Sat July 22

1/2 Day – PM Capt Dave G reports a slower afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We picked most of the afternoon but never were able to get a good bite going. Still we had a few nice keeper fluke. The pool winner was James Mazzara from Bellport, NY with a 4.3 lb Fluke.

Sat July 22

Montauk Jumbo Lighthouse Porgies & Knothead SeaBass Capt Dave reports that we started off down the beach this morning with a good pick of porgies on the smaller side, but there was a lot of action. We then worked our way east towards the lighthouse where we found nice quality porgies with plenty of sea bass mixed in. We also had a couple of keeper fluke. The first place pool winner was James Lee from Fresh Meadows, NY with a 3.3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Cesar Canel from Hampton Bays, NY with a 4.1 lb Sea Bass.

Sat July 22

Capt Dave G Reports a decent morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had the flood tide at the beginning of the trip and caught some nice keeper fluke and big sea bass. Then the tide dropped out and the bite slowed down. Still we managed a good morning trip. The pool winner was Marty Dowd of NYC who won first prize with a 5 lb fluke and second prize with a 4 lb sea bass.

Night Striped Bass Capt Carl reports improved Bass fishing tonight from Thursday nights trip. We found some fish to work on but they were in the smaller class, with many shorts being released, and we got some keepers out of it as well, with half a boat limit of Striped Bass. Chuck Colombo from Manhattan, NY took the pool with a 18 lb Striped Bass.

Fri July 21

Sunset Mixed Bag Magic Hour Capt Liam reports pretty good fishing tonight on the Viking Star. A harder running tide made it a little more difficult to catch than last night but we still put together a nice mess of fluke to 5 pounds and sea bass to 2 1/2 pounds.  Pool winners to follow.

Half Day Fishing PM Captain Joey D reports a nice afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had some fluke, some sea bass and a few porgies in the mix. Today’s pool winner was Christopher Ioannou of Commack with a nice 5.2lb fluke.

Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a nice pick of fish today aboard the Viking Starship. We spent most of the morning fishing for sea bass and got plenty of nice sized fish. We moved on and went for porgies and found a nice mess of them in mixed sizes. Today’s pool winner was Troy Walker from Brooklyn with a 2.75lb porgy.

1/2 Day Fluke AM Captain Joey D reports a slow morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star. The fishing was tough but we still managed a decent catch with a couple of keeper fluke, sea bass and porgies. The pool winner was Mark Sniffen from Hicksville NY a 4.75lb fluke!
