Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a tough day of fishing today. The water was a bit dirty today from the past weeks weather, and there were quite a few dogfish around, which made fishing difficult. We had some sea bass, some ling and a couple cod in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Kevin Chan from Flushing with a 3lb sea bass and in second place was Mike Edell of Holbrook with a 6lb cod.
Tuesday November 26
Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day fishing we manage nice catch off some market size porgies but the sea bass were biting there heads off to get over the rails and into the boat and on the dinner plate.we also had some nice cod in the mix. The pool, winner was Mr Sam Burman from San Diego, with a 3.5lb porgy.
Saturday November 23
Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports another good day of fishing today. Everyone filled their coolers today with plenty of porgies, sea bass and cod, all mixed in sizes. Today’s first place pool winner was Matthew Padavatton of Queens with a 3.5lb porgy and in second place was Mak of Philadelphia with a 12lb cod. Unfortunately, due to weather, tomorrows trip for BI Porgies and Sea Bass has been CANCELLED. Make sure you check with the website or call the office tomorrow to see if we will sail on Monday.
Friday November 22
Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports another good day of fishing again today. We had a really nice mix of good sized porgies and sea bass. We also had a good amount of cod up to about 15lbs. Today’s first place pool winner was Anna Kapusniak of Queens with a 3.5lb porgy and in second was Carlos Jackson of Queens with a 15lb cod. The Viking Starship is back and will be sailing for the porgy and sea bass trip tomorrow.
Thursday November 21
Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a better day of fishing today. We had to search a little bit, but we found a really nice pile of porgies, and they were a nicer size than yesterday. We did so well with the porgies, we had some time to look for the sea bass, and we were able to land a good pile of those as well. There were also some cod in the mix. All in all, everyone got their fill today. The first place pool winner was Ramon Tejeda of Brooklyn with a 3lb porgy and in second was Tony Cruz of Brooklyn with a 10 cod.
Wednesday November 20
Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a bit of a tough day today with the weather conditions. We still managed a decent catch, mostly smaller fish today, but mixed in size. We had porgies, sea bass and some cod in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Said Kim of NY with a nice big 4lb porgy and in second place was Peter Johnson with a 13lb cod.
Tuesday November 19
Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Anthony reports tremendous fishing today despite the nautical conditions. All it took was one anchor drop and coolers were busting with giant scup and limits of sea bass. There was no pool today, but the largest porgy was an easy 4 lbs. We had sea bass to 5lbs blues to 7lbs and red hake to 3lbs. Captain Dave will be back on tomorrow and the wind is supposed to lie down beautifully for your fishing comfort.

Viking FiveStar Weekend Report Sunday Nov 17 Rusty Belly for Blackfish and Sea Bass We returned late yesterday from a PHENOMENAL rusty belly trip! We started of black fishing on a couple wrecks which produced only a couple fish but they were all quality sized fish, the biggest being 11.5 lbs. our third drop started as a pick they turned into an all out bail job! Also had a bunch of quality fish with a few over 8 lbs popping up. After everyone loaded up with togs we headed offshore and had another EXCELLENT sea bass bite. Lots of double headers all around and all large to XL sized. We did see a couple cod come up on each drop but the sea bass dint leave you any time to leave a clam on the bottom. Also had a mess…

Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave and Captain Anthony both report a great day of fishing. It was a porgy and sea bass massacre! We had a hot start with knothead sea bass and nice size porgies. It slowed down with the tide change, so we made a move and found JUMBO of both chewing their heads off piled 25 feet off the bottom. We also had some cod, blues and ling in the mix. Aboard the Viking Star, the first place pool winner was Desmond Forsythe of Brooklyn with a 3.5lb porgy and in second place was Steve Zestanakis of Bayside with a 5.25lb sea bass. Saturday November 16
Viking FiveStar Coxes Cod and Sea Bass Vikingfive Starfishing On our way in from a great day fishing coxes ledge. The weather finally cooperated for us and so did the fish. Sea bass fishing remains strong with quality fish that sent everyone home with a big bag of fillets. Also had a mess of cod on each drop and of better quality then we have been seeing in the past few trips. Also a few xl scup on a couple drops. By the end of the day everyone went home with a load of bottom dwellers. The biggest cod weighed in at 20lbs and a few others were just shy weighing in the upper teens. The biggest seabass was 4.9 lbs also with some close to the same. We have another coxes ledge trip scheduled for Tuesday the 19th and…
