Thurs Aug 17- Montauk Lighthouse Porgies & Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports an excellent day of the Viking Starship. First thing this morning we anchored up and found all the Porgies we needed. We had sat on the anchor for about 2 1/2 hours with non-stop action, we had double-header Porgies left and right, everyone easily having the Blue fish and a couple keeper…

Thurs Aug 17 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt J.R. reports a decent morning of fishing on the Viking Star. A pick of fish all around the boat with sea bass and porgies being the main catch. We found some areas with more fluke and had a few nice KEEPERS scooped up in our nets. Not a bad morning of angling. The pool…

Wed Aug 16 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt J.R. reports a good afternoon of fishing on the Viking Star. This afternoon we found similar conditions as this morning’s trip with some east wind and slightly sloppy conditions. However, the bite continues to improve with more action and some definite better quality. We found some big porgies, sea bass, and a much improved…

Wed Aug 16 – New Moon Striped Bass

Captain Carl reports a Behemoth beat down on tonight’s New Moon Trip. We saw pretty much every angler hook up every drift! It was lock and load catching of Giant MooCow Striped Bass with every single angler onboard catching their personal bests! We had multiple fish over 50lbs, multiple over 40 lbs, and multiple of…

Wed Aug 16- Montauk Lighthouse Porgies & Sea Bass

Capt. Dave reports an excellent day of fishing today, catching very well from the first drop. When everyone had their limit of Porgies we moved off to the Sea Bass grounds where we also had fantastic fishing with everyone catching their limit of quality fish. Our Porgy pool winner today was Jeff Somers of Brooklyn…

Wed Aug 16 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt. JR reports that this morning’s trip on the Viking star was a definite improvement over yesterday. We still had to deal with the remnants of the rain and east wind, but we found a lot more life in every area we fished. We had a pick of sea bass, porgies, and a few KEEPER…

Tue Aug 15- Montauk Lighthouse Porgies & Sea Bass

Capt. Dave reports a slower start to today’s trip, most likely due to the weather.  We then started to see a lot of action when the sun came up but a lot of fish caught were on the smaller side. We kept at it and started to catch very well with a lot of large Porgies coning over the rails along with some really nice keeper Sea bass. We are definitely sailing tomorrow at 5am and the weather looks good. The office will open at 4am for ticket sales and check in.

Mon Aug 14– 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt J.R. reports an action-filled afternoon trip on the Viking Star everywhere we went. Sea bass, Porgies and Fluke were biting all afternoon and bending rods around the boat. The buckets looked very good and we had a very nice showing of KEEPER Fluke to top off the catch. Everyone ended the day with a…

Mon Aug 14- Montauk Lighthouse Porgies & Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a very good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We took a ride down the beach to start off the morning, trying to avoid the flooding tide. We had some decent action around there with a lot more little fish than we have been seeing, but everyone had a handful of nice size Porgies with a few SeaBass mixed in. After a few drifts we worked our way back to the Lighthouse and the conditions cleared and made for some very good fishing, with a lot larger Porgies and SeaBass. No jumbos on the boat today, but we definitely had some large sized fish. The pool winner today with Tony Zheng with a 2 1/4 lb Porgy.

Mon Aug 14– 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt J.R. reports a good morning of fishing onboard the Viking Star. We had SeaBass and Porgies bending rods all trip with a few Fluke in the mix. Everyone ended up with a nice bag of fillets to go home with. The pool winner today went to Ed Flaherty from Franklin Square, NY with a…
