Sun July 30 – 1/2 Day Fishing PM

Capt Mike reports a better afternoon of fishing today on the Viking Star. The wind died down and made for a beautiful afternoon with steady picking the entire trip. Sun July 30 – Full Day Block Island Fluke & Sea Bass

Capt J.R reports a more difficult day of fishing today on the Viking Starlite. Today’s Block Island Fluke and SeaBass trip was in a word, tough. We spent a majority of the trip searching our usual hotspots and finding very little…. There was a pretty significant ground swell in addition to some very windy conditions all morning. Whatever it was, it definitely turned the bite way off. We ended the trip finding some SeaBass and Fluke action, a few nice Fluke with some knot heads. But, after some late fishing we headed home to lick our wounds. The Fluke pool winner went to Tayfun Yaizici with a 6 lb Fluke. The SeaBass pool winner went to Sebastian Jasivkiewicz with a 3 1/2 lb SeaBass. We have more Block Island Fluke and SeaBass trips coming up on the following dates: –…

Sun July 30 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing today on the Viking Starship. Conditions today weren’t great but fishing remained very good. We started off the point this morning and fishing was great, with mixed sizes between medium and large and a few jumbos. We worked our way off to the east after loading up and had our pick of SeaBass were were on the smaller side, but we had a few nice ones in the mix. Overall a good day of fishing. We did not have a pool on the boat today, but the largest fish was around 2.8 lbs. We will be sailing tomorrow (Monday, July 31st) on our 5 am Montauk Porgies and SeaBass.

Sun July 30 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Sat July 29 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing on the Viking Starship. Our first drop at the lighthouse was our best with all good stuff there. When we moved around we saw some smaller Porgies in the mix than we have been seeing. Off to the east Sea Bass was slower than it’s been, but everyone managed a few keepers. There are also a bunch of Mackerel around. The pool winner was Cornell Armstrong from Teaneck, NJ with a 3 lb Porgy.

Sat July 29 – 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt Mike reports a slower morning on the Viking Star with the leftover swell. We did have a mixed bag of keeper Fluke, Sea Bass and some Porgies. Kids had a lot of fun catching fish. When the Fluke bit they were quality sized. The pool winner was Sharda Harripal from Brooklyn, NY with a…

Fri July 28 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. The Porgy fishing was as good it’s been lately, we had an excellent turn out with rods bent all morning and with medium to large sized Porgies and some jumbos. SeaBass fishing today was not so great, we had more throwbacks than…

Fri July 28- 1/2 Day Fishing AM

Capt J.R reports a slow morning on the Viking Star as the sea conditions in our usual haunts weren’t very conducive to fishing. We retreated back to some calmer waters but were very happy to find lots of action. We had a steady pick of fluke with a decent KEEPER to short size ratio all…

Thur July 27 – Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports excellent Porgy fishing this morning on the Viking Starship, despite windy conditions. The weather this morning was nice until about 10 am and we had some nice drops with mostly large sized Porgies coming up and a few small ones. When the wind kicked up we worked our way offshore and anchored…
