Sun Oct 16 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a decent day of fishing today in the Viking Star. Today wasn’t quite as good as its been, but not slow. We had a pretty steady pick with everyone getting a handful of fish at every drop, mostly on the large size for the Porgies and SeaBass, but a few small bass in the mix. We had plenty of Mackerell to full everyone’s buckets, along with 8-10 Cod fish caught on the boat. The pool winner for today went to Admir Capric from Staten Island with a large 3.5 lb Porgy. we will be sailing again tomorrow on the Viking Star for the 5 am Block Island Porgies and SeaBass (Monday, October 17th).

Sat Oct 15 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass – Second Boat

Capt JR reports an okay day on the Viking Superstar. We spent the day drifting and the Porgies were off the bite. There were some larger ones in the mix. It was a slow pick of nice Sea Bass with a lot of little ones mixed in. There were also about a dozen Cod. The first place pool winner was Erik Flores from Amityville, NY with a 3.3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Dwyane John from Staten Island, NY with an 8 lb Cod.

Wed Oct 12 – Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a decent day of fishing today on the Viking Starlite. Fishing has still been a bit slow, but we still managed to find fish at every spot. For most of the day we had a decent pick of Porgies and SeaBass around the medium size. At our last spot we got a nice 2 hour pick in of mostly large sized Porgies and mostly keeper sized SeaBass, along with plenty of Mackerell. The pool winner went to Henry Logan from Brooklyn, NY with a 3 lb Porgy.  The trip tomorrow is cancelled due to weather (Thursday, October 13th).

We had a tough trip overall last night; however, we stuck it out and tried many different areas in search of some fish.
