Mon Nov 23 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports good fishing on the Viking Starship. Anglers were able to get plenty of Porgies with SeaBass mixed in early on, then the wind came up later in the day. There were also a couple of Cod. The pool winner was Chris Conway from Queens, NY with a 3 lb Porgy. Tomorrow’s trip is CANCELLED due to weather.

Sun Nov 22 – Block Island SeaBass/Blackfish/Cod

Capt Steven Jr reports that on the open boat trip we had less then ideal conditions, but it did not stop us from having a great day of fishing on the Viking Fivestar. We had our usual limit of nice Seabass and the Tog bit pretty well with the given conditions. John Brisciana was high hook for the day with close to 30 keeper Seabass and 10 keeper togs (ORL).

Sat Nov 21 – 30 to 50 Mile Wreck – Charter

Capt Steven Jr reports that we had Lucas and the guys from upstate out on the Viking Fivestar and loaded them up with fillets. We made quick work of the limit of quality Seabass and a handful of Cod and some jumbo Scup. From there we took the ride inshore and had picky action with the Blackfish but had some quality fish to wrap up the day.

Sun Nov 22- Local Cod & Sea Bass

Capt Derek reports despite less than favorable conditions we had a pretty good day on the Viking Star. The Sea Bass fishing was pretty good with all nice sized fish. Not the Jumbos we’ve seen regularly, but good-sized meaty fish. A handful of Cod on board as well. David Parsons of Lester, PA won the Cod pool with a 10 lb Cod. Danny Ko of Brooklyn, NY won the Sea Bass pool with a 3.5 lb fish.

Sun Nov 22- Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports a decent day of fishing on the the Viking Starship. Weather conditions had us anchoring up today and the wind made it a little challenging for all our anglers to feel the bite!. Despite those challenges mostly Large Porgies with a handful of Jumbos and Medium Porgies mixed in. Everyone on board got their limit of nice sized Sea Bass. We had a handful of Cod today as well. First place in the pool went to Everton Bills of Teaneck, NJ with a 3.3 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner was Charlie Nataro of Plainview, NY with a 12 lb Cod.

Sat Nov 21 – Ultra LTD Blackfish & SeaBass

Capt Steven Sr reports very very good fishing on the Viking Starlite. We had about 80 to 100 keeper Togs up to 9 1/2 lbs with at least 150 shorts returned unharmed! We also had nice SeaBass mixed in all day long, 7 Cod along with Pollock, Bar Jacks and Porgies. It was a very productive day with our anglers going home with full coolers! The Blackfish Pool winner was long time Viking angler Dwayne Sherard from Baldwin, NY with a 9 lber. The SeaBass Pool winner was Michael Potamousis from Bergenfield, NJ with a 4.8 lber.  

Sat Nov 21 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports very good fishing on the Viking Starship. We got in a couple drops with a mixed bag of Porgies and SeaBass. The SeaBass were niced size up to 4 lbs. There was also a handful of Cod and a bunch of Pollock. First time angler with the Viking Fleet – Zhe Jiang Yu from Brooklyn, NY won both pools! He had a 3.3 lb Porgy for first place and won the edible pool with a 10 lb Cod.

Sat Nov 21 – Local Cod & SeaBass

Capt JR reports an excellent day on the Viking Star. Giant Knothead SeaBass coming up all day. We did have Cod on almost every drop today. Most were larger teen-sized fish, a lot a meat. Seems like some new fish are coming in. The winner of the Cod Pool was Renato Zabata from Riverdale, Bronx with a 20 lber. The SeaBass Pool winner was Mark Song from Pearl River, NY with a 4 1/2 lber.

Fri Nov 20 – Schedule Update

We have a few spots left this weekend on Saturday and Sunday for the Cod & SeaBass trip on the Viking Star. The fare is $140. Book soon!!! The trips for this weekend have been selling out quickly. 30 to 50 Mile Wreck trips have been added to the Viking Fivestar schedule for December. The fare is $280. Additional sailing dates are on Wednesday’s. December 9, 16, 23, 30. Book soon. These trips SOLD OUT very quickly for November. Beginning Wednesday November 25th we will have the Viking Star going out for Blackfish – SeaBass – Cod. The trip fare is $150. Departure is 5am the return time is 3pm. Limited to 45 Anglers. It will sail on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until December 20th. We will continue to sail daily for Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass…
