Tue Aug 13 – Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports fine fishing on the Viking Stariper. The weather conditions and tide forced us to anchor down the beach and we had a good pick of Scup that were mostly medium size. We then went SeaBassing offshore to the south and we caught a mix of big and small SeaBass, smaller Porgies than the first spot, Mackerel and Fluke. Everyone had their limits. Shi Hui Zheng from Brooklyn won the pool with a 2.7 lb Porgy.

Sat Aug 10 – 36 Hour Tuna – Viking Fivestar

Capt Steven Jr reports a tough trip this weekend being that we were limited on how far we could run on the short trip. We fished closer to home and managed 3 big yellow fin and a decent shot of nice Mahi. The quality yellows are making their way closer but the big body of fish is not here yet. We are looking forward to getting back out again this weekend on a 48 hour trip.

We had a lot of first time anglers aboard this morning that learned the tricks of the trade from our mates and we able to bring aboard a lot of keepers. The kids enjoyed bringing on and then releasing the shorts as well. The pool winner today was Michael McGrath of Massapequa Park, NY with our only keeper Fluke today of 4.7 pounds. Our second place pool winner was Evan Levine of East Northport, NY with a 3.2 pound Sea Bass.
