Block Island Fall Jumbo Porgies Capt Dave repots an excellent day of fishing on the Viking Starship. Limits of jumbo porgies were caught by all and we came in early. Today’s pool winner was Donald Moy from Manhattan, NY with a 3.7lb porgy.

Block Island Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports an okay day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. The morning started a bit slow and we had to really search for them, but once we found them we made a decent catch. We had a mixed range of porgies from small to medium size. As the day went on, the fishing got better. We also had about a half dozen keeper cod. Today’s pool winner was Eric Flores of Amityville with a nice 3.5lb porgy.

Night Striped Bass Capt Carl reports a solid night of Bass fishing on the Viking Starship. It took a little while for the tide to get right, but once it did, they started to bite! We saw all quality fish tonight from 25-41 pounds! George Jenner from Oceanside, NY took first place with a 41.6 pound behemoth Striped Bass, and Ben Quesada from South Brunswick, NJ took second with a 37 pounder!

Block Island Jumbo Porgies and Knothead Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a little bit of a slower day today over near Block Island. We started off a little bit slow with the big swell on but we had a fair pick of porgies and sea bass. Then we tried something different and moved around a little, anchored up and had a good pick of nice sized porgies and sea bass. We also had about 20 keeper cod in the mix. Today’s first place pool winner was Angel Rodriguez of the Bronx with a huge 4.2lb porgy and in second place was Tom Tang of Queens with a 12lb cod.

Night Striped Bass Captain Carl reports a tough night of bass fishing aboard the Viking Starship. As we have seen for this whole season… the outgoing tide does not produce bass for us. We did have some action with some big blues keeping everyone entertained. First place in the pool went to Al Hanak from Ronkonkoma, NY with a 16lb bluefish, and second went to Ovando Chilal from Southampton, NY with a 15lb blue. Next weekends trips will have the better tide!
