Half Day Fluke PM Capt Dave G reports a slower afternoon on the Viking Star. Still we managed to put together a catch of fluke, sea bass and porgies. The first place pool winner was Heather Gillis of Port Washington with a 6.9lb fluke and in second place was 7 year old Timmy Gallivan of Pelham with a 6.8lb fluke. Long Range Night Striped Bass Capt Carl reports a solid night of bass fishing on the Viking Starship! We had to wait a while for them to bite… The outgoing tide still hasn’t produced much for us, but as the flood tide got going, the cows started chewing. We picked away at fish mixed size but the majority in the XL size class. Brandon Bellairs from Levitown, NY took the pool with a 39 lb beautiful Striped Bass. Montauk Sunset Striped Bass & Bottom Fishing Captain Dave reports slow fishing last night on the Viking Starship. We only had a few shorts and no keepers. Montauk Jumbo Porgies & Sea Bass Capt Dave reports despite the rough conditions this morning we had an excellent bite at the lighthouse. We then moved toward Block Island and had a good mix of porgies and sea bass. The first place pool winner was Arris from NYC with a 3lb porgy. Night Striped Bass Capt Carl reports a great night of bass fishing on the Viking Starship! After a few drifts of nothing, they turned on and the rest of the night we had good steady action catching 2-7 big bass each drift! They were hungry and we were on them! Joseph Sikula from Queens, NY took the pool with a 40.8 pounder, and Damien Smith from Brooklyn, NY took second with a 38.7 pounder! Montauk Sunset Striped Bass & Bottom Fishing Captain Dave reports that the fish were biting very well last night on eels. We had a bunch of nice sized striped bass. The pool winner was Nick Difusco with a 41 lb striped bass. Full Day Fluke and Sea Bass Captain Sarah had a phenomenal day of fishing today aboard the Viking Stariper. Plenty of large fluke and sea bass came over the rails. We limited out on big sea bass with many over 4lbs. The fluke were large and hungry with many over 5lbs. Everyone caught keepers today! Half Day Fluke PM Capt Dave G reports a slower start to the afternoon trip but a good finish. We started with a strong breeze and a difficult drift. Then the winds lessened and the bite improved. We ended up with a decent catch of fluke, sea bass and porgies. We had lots of porgies, a bit on the smaller side, with a handful of sea bass, some fluke and a nice showing of big trigger fish.
