Half Day Fluke AM Captain Joe reports an okay morning of fishing today. We had fluke, sea bass and a few porgies in the mix. Today’s pool winner was Chip Hazlett of Commack with a 4.6lb fluke. Night Striped Bass Captain Anthony reports horrible conditions which equaled for horrible fishing. We started with slack drift, we got a few blues, then once we got the tide the drift was difficult but nothing mattered. Bass were not on the feed. We stayed out late and finally started marking, but only managed 1 out of a pile. The first place pool winner was George Simmons of North Babylon with a 23pounder and in second was Lucian Forantatas of Croton on Hudson with a 12pounder. Sunset Striped Bass Trip Capt Ant reports a bloodbath with blues last night.  It was awesome!!  We had a bunch of families with many young girls beating up on the choppers and loving every minute of it.  Hopefully the new shoes for school weren’t worn last night!!  After boating about 100 of the yellow eyed beauties, we were off to bass fish with eels.  As it seems like its been lately, we got one immediately, a healthy 20lber and then the bottom dropped out with the tide for the remainder of the evening.  We got in a couple of drifts at the start of the flood but never really got to feeding speed.  All in all rod bending action and an absolutely gorgeous Sunset!! Night Striped Bass Captain Anthony reports and optimistic outcome to last nights traditional bass trip. They bit where they were supposed to, however not in the quantity we’d like. Blues were definitely feasting as well, so overall it was a decent fishing trip with the two moo cows landed by Brian Jones of Golden Bridge NY who nailed a 38.7lb slob and took 1st place in the pool. And then there was Jeremy Hernandez from Yonkers who took second place with his 30.4 pounder. That was Jeremy’s second pool win in 2 nights- oh yea, and hes only 14! Way to go Jeremy! Night Striped Bass Capt Ant reports a tough day at the office although we had bites-plenty of them but the 4.2 knot drift made it tough to connect. We grinded out a catch but could never get a consistent feeding frenzy. Pool winners were 11 year old Justin Wolfe who had a 28lber and coming in first, and for second place we had Chris Luke with a 24lb striper. 2 Day Deep Water Extended Both Days Ultra Limited Captain Steven Sr reports an okay offshore trip this past week. On day 1, Mother Nature did her part by giving us an unpleasant start with steady 20+ mph winds all day, which made it very difficult to tend the bottom. With the big ground swell from the east-wind, we had some tough conditions, but we did manage to make a decent day with some tiles, hake, pollack, a few norther groupers and barrel fish. On day 2, we had the opposite- it was flat and calm, making for good conditions and a much better bite. We had tile fish up to 43lbs, 9 fish over 25lbs, a nice bunch of 8-15lb healthy tiles- overall lots of quality fish! By the end of the trip, everyone was happy with their catch!…

Ant reports a frustrating night of Bassing.  15-20kts out of the SW against a strong Ebb…yuck..tough drifting conditions had us drifting backwards in order to keep the lines straight.  The fish were there and stacked and biting, but they were biting tentatively.  I saw 3 fish come up last night just holding the eel tail, never getting the hook, and it wasn’t from swinging early.  You really had to be experienced to catch last night as our regulars, Chris Luke, Doug Seay and Jonny Jesus of the Elbow Rewinski tallied 3,2,2, respectively.  Chris himself said he missed about 12 bites.  So overall all we scratched and clawed and put a catch together with some absolute beauty Moo Cow Linesiders in the mix as well with two fish breaking the 35lb mark and, by divine intervention a…

Night Striped Bass Captain Anthony can finally say MOOOOO! We got them big last night, late but big! We caught the last of the flood and the fish were stacked! We were only able to manage 1 keeper and 1 shorty in these drifts. We bailed the scup and fluke on the jigs so at least rods were bending. We sat through 2 full hours of lull, lost a couple of nice bites, but with an hour to go the big boys started biting. We had a total of 4 fish over 30lbs! George “Novelist” Jehn nailed a 38.5lb and a 31.7lb striped bass. Gunther Vanderdoesch took with pool with a 38lb 8 oz striper and Chase Derasmi took second place with his 33lb striper.
