Block Island Behemoth Trip
Capt. Ant reports an excellent fishing trip across the pond on Friday night. We started the night with slack tide and found Behemoths immediately except they were Behemoth Bluefish and they were stacked solid. The first hour was spent with rods bent in half with the 15-18lb Choppers…just like bluefishing of old. Once we started drifting around 1.4 knots we had our first two bass of the night, the first one would turn out to be the pool winning Moo Cow and a true Behemoth at 43.2lbs caught by Justin Cannarelli of Center Moriches. Once we got over 2 kts, the bite died other than a 29″ fish by George “Pulitzer” Jehn. We made a wiggle and found a mix of bass and blues, this piece yielded a 29.6lber among other 15-25lb fish. But again the blues took over and hampered the bite. We mooooved back to our original zone and herded up some more Mooo’s to end the trip with the largest fish going 34.8lbs by the now famous author who limited out. We added a 32 and a 30 as well. Overall great action all night and Behemoths once again slaughtered at Block. We look forward to tonight’s Flood Chaser to once again deliver the Cattle. Tonight’s trip is 8pm-3am, an exclusive eel trip hitting all the big fish spots around the Lighthouse. Viking Fleet MOO COWNTER
Half Day Fluke PM
Captain Joe reports a very good afternoon of fluke fishing. We had fluke, sea bass and striped bass. Today’s pool winner was 11 year old Sam Saboni from North Dakota with a 4lb fluke.
