Sunset Stripers
Capt Ant reports two nights in a row of slow fishing on the Sunset Jigging trip.  The bite has been off at the light for the past few days so we gave up on the jigs and tried eeling to entice some fish to bite.  There is so much bait around the lighthouse zone right now that even eels made no difference.  Both Sunday and Monday trips delivered 2 bass each trip with a few blues in the mix.  Could be our August summer doldrums are here, or could be that they are waiting for the moon to start feeding again.  Either way it’s been tough fishing.  Pool winners were:Kathleen Brophy Middletown, NY with a 26lbs Second Place went to Nick Puglisi, Westchester, with a 15lbs
Half Day Fluke PM
Capt Carl reports a great afternoon on the 1/2 day fishing boat! We went back to where we had them this morning and again, the keeper flukes were there and biting! Once again we had plenty of keeper fluke to send everyone onboard home with delicious fresh fluke filets! The pool winner was Brian Martin from Valley Stream NY with a 5.5lbs fluke.

Full Day Porgies and Sea Bass
Capt Dave reports fishing was a little tough today. When the conditions were right, fishing was easy, but we had to fight the conditions most of the day. Louis Mercieca from Queens NY took the porgy pool with a jumbo 4lber. The sea bass pool was won by Sam Jiang, also from Queens.

Half Day Fluke AM
Capt Carl reports an excellent morning 1/2 day fishing trip! Action was hot and heavy and there were over 25 keepers. Justin Wolfe only 11 years old caught his limit of fluke to 6.1 pounds! He was not in the pool. Lawrence Lizzack took the pool with a 5.9lber. All the families onboard went home with more than enough for supper. We also had some nice sea bass too! What a great morning!
