Block Island Porgies and Sea Bass
Captain Dave and Captain Anthony both report a great day of fishing. It was a porgy and sea bass massacre! We had a hot start with knothead sea bass and nice size porgies. It slowed down with the tide change, so we made a move and found JUMBO of both chewing their heads off piled 25 feet off the bottom. We also had some cod, blues and ling in the mix. Aboard the Viking Star, the first place pool winner was Desmond Forsythe of Brooklyn with a 3.5lb porgy and in second place was Steve Zestanakis of Bayside with a 5.25lb sea bass. Aboard the Viking Starship, the first place pool winner was Artemio Pineiro from the Bronx with a 3lb porgy, and in second place was Mark Jemenez of Manhattan with an 18lb cod.
