Full Day Fluke and Sea Bass
Captain Sarah reports bit of a slow day today. The sea bass were biting strong but not so much the fluke. We did catch some big, beautiful sea bass with the boat getting its limit. We did manage a catch of fluke for those who braved the heat and stayed at the rail all day. Joe Chen of Queens with a nice 5.7lb fluke.

Half Day Fluke AM
Capt Dave G reports a good morning of fishing aboard the Viking Star. Despite the heat we had a nice cool breeze. We caught fluke sea bass and porgies. Today’s first place pool winner was Martin Haacher of Germany with a 5.3lb fluke and in second place was Peter Morfea of Brewster with a 4.9lb fluke.

Montauk Jumbo Summer Porgies & Seabass.
Captain Dave reports a slow start to fishing on the Viking Star this morning. There was mostly very small fish at the start however they managed to zero in on a spot with some nice sized Porgies and ended up with a decent catch. Seabass fishing was quite slow today with only a handful being caught. There was some fluke caught too as well as two Striped bass. Tony Santo from Newark NJ won first and second place in the pool with a lb Porgy and a 10lb Striper.

Striped Bass
Capt Carl reports a pretty decent night of bass fishing on the Viking Starship. We had to wait for the tide to get going and once it did we picked away at some nice bass, with some drifts better than others. We had mostly quality fish over 20lbs with a few smaller ones and some shorts released unharmed. Marty “Wellen” Dowd took the pool with a 34 pounder and Sam Haber from NYC, NY took second with a 32 pounder.
