Thurs Sept 21 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports excellent fishing today on the Viking Starship. We started off our morning fishing some inshore spots and picked through lots of clouds of little porgies and a mix of seabass. We then worked our way offshore a bit into some deeper water where we got into some really nice fishing. There was plenty of action between large porgies, keeper seabass, and a lot of mackerell. Fishing was very steady today and we even had ourselves a couple of the false albacores. Overall a very good day of fishing, and we are sailing tomorrow, so come out before the weather comes in this weekend. The first prize pool winner went to Elric Jervis from the Bronx with a 2 3/4 lb. Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Ron Garvo on vacation from Santa Barbara, California with a 7 lb. Albacore.
