Mon Sept 18 to Thurs Sept 21 – 3 Day TNT Ultra LTD

Our three day TNT trip on the Viking Star started out a little inconvenient with some windy conditions. However, we concentrated our efforts on the tuna grounds and spent the entire first day convincing the picky fish to bite. The fish were very line shy but we dropped down to light leaders and hooked a good amount of fish throughout the day. But due to the lighter tackled required, we lost a fair number and boated only a fraction of the fish we hooked.

Day two brought us beautiful tile conditions and we took full advantage of it. We had great action all day with both golden tiles and blue line tile fish keeping rods bent. We easily captured our boat limit of both with some slammer blue lines in the mix. Several were in the 15-17 lb. range.

We spent the remainder of the trip targeting the tunas with the same results of line shy fish. We did boat a few more before heading home. All in all it was a good trip. The tuna fish pool winner went to Louis Miller with a 60 lb. yellowfin tuna. The tile fish pool winner went to Brian Martin with a 17 lb. blueline tile fish. The edible pool winner went to Bob Gregson with a 7 lb. mahi mahi.

We still have availability on some of our upcoming offshore tuna trips on the Viking Star.
