Back to Viking Fleet Fishing Reports

Wed Oct 4 – Block Island Jumbo Porgies & Knothead Sea Bass

Capt Dave reports slightly better fishing today on the Viking Starship. Fishing was still on the slow side since the last storm. It was definitely much improved from yesterday and the days prior, but fishing has still be unfavorable. We spent most our day drifting, which seemed to be better than sitting on the anchor, as we picked through a lot of small Porgies and SeaBass. We did see a lot of Mackerell today which made for some solid action on the boat. Our first prize pool winner went to Mike Dior from Queens with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Wayne Walker from Brooklyn with an 8 lb Cod fish.  We are definitely sailing tomorrow (Thursday, October 5th) at 5AM. The office will be open at 4AM for ticket sales.
