Capt Dave reports a good day of fishing today on the Viking Starship. We had good conditions this morning fishing around the Lighthouse bringing in a handful of Porgy, SeaBass and Mackerel. Seabass and Porgies were mixed sized, but mostly on the large size with a few XL. Overall steady day of fishing. The first place pool winner went to Kevin Chann from New York City with a 2.8 lb Porgy. The edible pool winner went to Willie Mayzack with a 4lb SeaBass. We will most definitely be sailing tomorrow at 5am and the spots are limited, don’t forget to make your reservation online at vikingfleet.com/ or by calling the office directly.

Wed July 13 – Whale Watching

An excellent day on the water with 120 short-beaked common dolphins and loads of pelagic birds, and 6 phalaropes,  2 Wilson’s storm petrels. It was a beautiful afternoon on the Viking Starship. Tue July 12 -Montauk Lighthouse Jumbo Porgies & Knothead SeaBass

Capt Dave reports  good fishing on the Viking Starship. We anchored for the trip to the south because of the strong tide and windy conditions. There were mixed size Porgies and SeaBass, 1/2 dozen keeper Fluke, and some Trigger fish. You had to pick through a lot of small Sea Bass to get to the keepers, but everyone had their limit. Overall it was very good with nice quality fish. The pool winner was Ronal Cruz from Pleasantville, NJ with a 2 1/2 lb Porgy.
