Schedule Update: Monday June 15th 2015 Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Tuesday June 16 is Cancelled due to the Weather! We will be sailing every day after. Please call the office at 631-668-5700 or book online a vikingfleet.com Dave Duffy Deep Water Charter Captain Steven Sr. reports a good trip to the deep water on the Dave Duffy Charter. On Day 1 we hit the cod wrecks. The first couple were a slow pick, but the next couple of wrecks produced a steady pick of nice size cod. The winner of the cod pool was Theo Zmach of Oceanside, NY with a 25 pounder. Late in the day we headed to the deep water tile fish grounds. We found a steady pick of nice quality tile fish, with many in the 8-12 pound class, along with a nice supply of hake…

Sunday June 14th

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Stephen Francis reports that fishing started slow this morning on the Porgy grounds. But it got better as the morning went on.The pool winner Maurice Wauchope from Hempstead, NY with a 3.9lbs. New Bedford Porgies and Seabass Captain Dave reports  a slower day of fishing on the Viking Starship. There was a good mix of porgies and seabass on the boat. The pool winner was Marcos Corea from the Bronx with a 3lb porgy. The Starship is underway and on its way back to Montauk. The Viking Fleet wants to thank everyone who joined us to fish this year in New Bedford, MA.

Saturday June 13

New Bedford Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports that fishing had improved today we had lot Sea bass and nice size Porgies coming over the rails. The Pool winner was Shkelzen Morina  he took the both pools with a 3lb Porgy and the edible pool with a 5lbs Sea Bass. Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Steven Francis reports another excellent day of porgy fishing. There were plenty of nice size scup coming over the rails. Friday June 11th

Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Steven Francis reports AWESOME fishing today on the porgy grounds. We had great weather, perfect conditions and had anglers busy fulling there coolers. The pool winner was Mr Edson S Davis from Jamaica, Queens with a 3.5lbs porgy. .   New Bedford Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports another excellent day of fishing today in New Bedford. We had sea bass up to 6lbs, with most people catching their limit, and nice big porgies as well. Again most people had their limit of porgies. Today’s pool winner was Leon Mow, a visitor from Guyana, with a 3lb porgy.

Thursday June 11th

New Bedford Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports a tough day with windy conditions but we still manage to catch the limit of Sea Bass and almost everyone caught their limit of Porgies. The pool winner was Mr Stanley Thompson from Bridgeton, NJ with a 4lbs Jumbo Scup. Montauk Jumbo Spring Porgies Captain Stephen Francis reports that fish started out slow, But as the day went on we had a steady pick of some nice porgies. Wed June 10

Schedule Update: The Viking Starship’s last day in New Bedford, MA will be this Sunday, June 14th. Our last Porgy and Seabass trip will be at 5am. Fishing has been red hot so get there! The next few days will be your last chance fishing with the Viking in New Bedford for the 2015 season. We will continue to have porgy trips out of Montauk daily. Dave and the crew want to thank everyone who joined them in New Bedford this season. We look forward to seeing you in Montauk for our daily porgy trips at 5am. Tuesday June 9th

Charter Captain Carl reports a good fun Charter on the Viking Star today! The local crew from the Sherwin Williams Paint Company brought some of their accounts out fishing for the day, And for the first half we caught a bunch of jumbo Porgies! After that we went fluke fishing. And had some keepers on every drift! All in all a great day with a great group! Sunday June 7

Montauk Spring Jumbo Porgies Captain Stephen Francis reports a slow and stead pick all morning long fishing .The pool winner was Louis Zurita from Queens, NY with a 3.2lby porgy. Half Day Fluke AM Captain Joe reports a bit of a slower start today. It was a beautiful morning, but the tide was slow at first, then once it picked up we had consistent action with some shorts and some keepers. Today’s pool winner was Patricia Manaitis of Brooklyn with a 5.5lb fluke. Half Day Fluke PM Captain Joe reports that fishing was okay with some nice size fish. New Bedford Porgies and Sea Bass PM Captain Dave reports fishing was much better in the afternoon with some really nice quality Porgies and Sea Bass up to 5lb.The pool winner was Mr John Cheeseboro from Brooklyn, NY with a 3lb Porgy. New Bedford Porgies and Sea Bass AM Captain Dave reports a bit of a slower day up in New Bedford this morning. The sea bass bite was okay but the porgy bite seemed a little bit off. We still managed an okay catch for the day.
