Night Bass Block Island Behemoth Captain Carl reports very tough conditions tonight making for a tough bite. We had a couple of slob bass in the beginning of the night, but then the tide slacked off. Then as the flood tide began the NW wind picked up for more wind against tide, where we didn’t drift over a half a knot for hours. Finally at the end of the night we had just enough of a drift to catch a few more big stripers. Matt Keefe from Stoney Point, NY took the pool with a 42lb 10oz behemoth and Cory Lester from NYC took second with a 38lb 5oz linesider. 1/2 Day-AM Captain Dave G reports a great morning of fishing with a mixed bag of nice keeper fluke, sea bass and porgies. There was a lot of action all around the boat. The pool winner was Artie Weissbach of South Seatauket, NY with a 5.2lb porgy. Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a good day of fishing on the Viking Starship! We had some really nice big porgies today with a mix of sea bass, about a dozen keeper fluke and 1 keeper striped bass. Monday July 20th

Half Day AM Captain Dave G reports a great morning on the fishing grounds with a lot of keeper fluke, porgies and sea bass. We had great conditions and a lot of action. The pool winner was 14 year old Sarah Gallagher from the Devin Yacht Club with a 6 lb Fluke. . Montauk Porgies and Sea bass Captain Dave reports EXCELLENT porgy fishing! We had a nice mix of porgies sea bass and fluke. The pool winner was Everton from Brooklyn, NY with a 6.13 lb fluke. The second place pool winner was Jack Lin from Brooklyn, NY with a 3.14 lb porgy. Half Day AM – Fluke Fishing Captain Stephen D reports a very good morning on the fluke grounds  with lots of action all morning long. We also had Sea Bass and Scup in the mix. The pool winner Mr Steve Callahan from Flushing, NY with a 4.6lb fluke. Montauk Summer Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports very solid fishing with a lot of porgy and sea bass up to 4lbs. There were a couple of fluke caught as well. The first place pool winner was Gerardo Salinas from Central Islip, NY with a 4lb porgy. Full Day Fluke and Sea Bass Captain Stephen Francis reports awesome full day trip today aboard the Viking Stariper! The sea bass bite was great first thing in the morning! As the day went on, the fluke bite was a little slow, but the ones we had were all jumbos! Then for the afternoon we moved to a different area for the change of tide and found ourselves with some non stop fluke action! We put a bunch of keepers on the boat! All in all it was a great trip and everyone left with a full cooler. Block Island Behemoth Striped Bass Captain Carl reports a slow night on the Viking Starship tonight. We had a couple slobs and lost just as many, then the bite completely shut down for the second half of the trip. We covered a lot of grounds and secret spots, but the fish were just not on the chew. Eddie Kantar won first place in the pool with a 44lb 4oz BEHEMOTH and Yinuer Rostad from the great country of Norway won second place with a 40lb 11oz slob moo cow! Thursday July 16th

Night Striped Bass Captain Carl reports that the Night Striped Bass trip saw a slow down on the local bite. They seemed to be off the feed, but we did still manage a fair amount of keepers and all at trophy sizes! Among the catch, we had a 38.2 pounder, a 39.4 pounder and Gavan Daly of Maspeth Queens took the pool with a 41.4lb trophy striped bass. We also had some beautiful weather! Block Island Behemoth Bass Captain Carl reports another great night catching Behemoth Bass on the Viking Starship! Every single fish was over 25lbs-40lbs! They bit steady through the thunder, lightning and rain. Once the tide changed, they developed some lockjaw, but we ended up just a few shy of a boat limit. Sunset Jigging Striper Trip – Mon July 13 Captain Stephen Francis reports a good trip last night on the Viking Starship. They were met again with a strong flood tide and a mass of birds. There were a bunch of shorts and keepers. 1/2 Day – AM Captain Dave G reports a slow morning on the 1/2 day trip. There were a couple of fluke, porgies and sea bass (returned unharmed) caught. The pool winner was Peter Gibralter from Hauppauge, NY with a 3.5lb fluke. 1/2 Day – PM Captain Dave G reports a decent afternoon with a mix of fluke, porgies and sea bass – all released unharmed, for the last day until December 31st!!. Mon July 13

Montauk Jumbo Porgies Captain Dave reports fishing started good this morning but as the day went on fishing got tough. We still manage to put a nice catch together with some keeper Fluke & Striped bass in the mix. There were a lot off Sea bass around and those caught were released unharmed. The pool winner was Mr  Jian Deng with a 3lbs Porgy. Half Day AM Capt Dave G reports a decent morning of fluke, porgies and seabass (all returned unharmed). We had the junior members of the Devin Yacht Club out on the boat and they had a great time!
