1/2 Day Fluke AM Captain Sarah reports a splendid morning of fishing on the Viking Stariper. There was lots of action with plenty of keepers. The mates were kept super busy running and helping all the happy fishers. Today’s pool winner was 13 year old Ethon Massey from Madison Connecticut with a nice 7.1lb Fluke. Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports an overall god day of fishing today aboard the Viking Starship. We had excellent porgy fishing so we went to go look for some sea bass and we found some nice big ones. We also had some blues and fluke in the mix. Half Day Fluke PM Capt Dave G reports a nice afternoon of fishing aboard the Viking Star. We had a mixed bag of sea bass, fluke and porgies. The pool winner was Pat Carroll from Freeport, NY with a 5.5lb fluke. Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a slower day than normal for porgy fishing. They had a good shot of fishing right in the morning and then it slowed down as the tide got stronger. It did get better at the end of the day with nice good quality fish. We had porgies, everyone had nice big sea bass and we had a couple fluke. Montauk Jumbo Porgies and Sea Bass Captain Dave reports a nice start with some difficult conditions. We had a hard tide running this morning but at the end of the day on our last drop we got em! We put some extra time in and got some really nice sized porgies and almost everyone had their limit of sea bass with to 4lbs and 3 keeper striped bass. Montauk Jumbo Summer Porgies & Seabass Captain Dave reports a slow start to the morning of fishing aboard the Viking Starship. They had to sift through lots of small fish at the start but then they found a good spot and brought in a lot of nice big sized porgies. Everyone had a handful of Seabass too. The boat had their limit of seabass. We also had 2 keeper striped bass. Night Striped Bass Captain Carl reports another SOLID night of bass fishing! It started slow with the very end of the flood tide and slack, but we marked them the whole time. Finally, the ebb tide started rolling and they started chewing! Drift after drift we saw more and more bass flying over the rails! We had a couple of blues in the mix too. All in all it was great fishing! Tonight’s first place winner was Joe Khamis of Westchester with a 39.8lb bass and in second place was William Massaro of Stony Brook with a 38.1lb striped bass. Full Day Fluke and Sea Bass Captain Sarah reports despite the pouring rain this morning, our hardcore full day fisherman and women were able to put together quite the catch! Many limited out on large sea bass and nice sized fluke. We also saw some porgies come over the rails. All in all a good day on the Stariper! Half Day Fluke PM Captain Dave G reports a very nice afternoon of fishing. We caught plenty of fluke, sea bass and porgies. And even a striped bass! Very pleasant conditions and a great afternoon on the water. Today’s first place pool winner was Joe Campbell of Lynbrook with a 4lb fluke. We had a lot of keeper fluke as well as plenty of beautiful sea bass. We also caught some monster sized porgies today.
